I am going to be playing a rogue in my next campaing. I have pretty good stats 16 18 16 12 11 8 to be put where ever you see fit. I really like the idea of going all rogue, so I was wodnering if anyone had any tips. Just about any book under the sun is allowed, even dragon mags. Just looking for some ideas. Thanks.

Do you want to be a sneak-attacking melee monster? A stealthy thief? A silver-tongued diplomat? More details, please :)

I like the idea of a really smart rogue, one who plans out the battles, and set them up. Ambushes, uses the party's ablilties to their fullest, setting up SA, flanks, and what not.

With Dragon mags available, and your concept, you might consider a ranged rogue build multiclassed with the targeteer fighter variant, found in one of the dragon mags (the number escapes me, I think the article is called class options).

One option lets you add your Dex to damage with ranged attacks.

A potential strong race would be strongheart halfling, using the rogue substitution level from UA for an extra 1d6 with ranged attacks. Since halflings get a +1 attack bonus for thrown weapons or with a sling, i'd recommend having daggers for weapons, with a sling backup in case of undead.

Craven is also a good feat to take later, since the negatives to will saves against fear is counteracted by the bonuses halflings get. The bonuses aren't worth it unless you are getting multiple attacks.

Check out the Machine Gun Rogue thread. You'll have to alter it a bit, since you have more options. Remember that the options I presented may prevent you from taking fighter feats later, but you can probably get those from a custom wonderous item that uses Heroics from the spell compendium as it's base.

There is actually a really cool Fey race from some old dragon mag, it has an ecl of +0 and gets +2dex and +2 cha. (think it gets -2 str and -2 wis). I like the idea of using al sorts of tricks to set combat to my advantage, invisablity, having the fighter grapple, flaking etc. What are some of the best choices for increasing skill bonuses?
