| MaximumHavoc07-04-06, 08:02 PM | am i right in believing that a level 19 rogue is better off taking level 1 fighter instead of 20th level in rogue? 20th level rogue offers: +1 BAB +1 to one save (reflex) 8 skill points 1st level fighter offers: +1 BAB +2 to one save (fortitude) 2 skill points 1 feat martial weapon proficiency medium and heavy armor proficiencies (to the extent that they are useful to this character) |

| Tyryt07-04-06, 08:24 PM | Depends. if you take rogue, when you hit level 21, then you get Epic feat access and such... seems to me I remember that Rogues get some nice epic abilities. |

Not access. That's CL 21. What Rogue 21+ (or Epic in any class) gets you is an epic bonus feat progression. Which is moot if he doesn't get to go epic. |
| MaximumHavoc07-04-06, 09:06 PM | no epic. :P :D |
| Skyrocket07-04-06, 09:18 PM | If you're willing to be Lawful, a level of monk is rarely a bad idea. IIRC, a level of Warlock nets you detect magic at will. What rogue couldn't use that? |

| Oogar07-04-06, 10:19 PM | 2nd level of warlock is detect magic at will. So that isn't great.... |
| JaronK07-05-06, 08:59 PM | A few nice ones: One level of Wizard gives you a few nice spells to play with, and since many rogues have nice Int, this can work well. It certainly adds to your flexibility. You also get a familiar, which has your skill ranks, and for a rogue that can actually be very useful. One level of Beguiler nets you some nice spells as well, and still gives you decent skill points... plus you can cast in light armour, which you're probably using anyway. One level of Assassin gives you a death attack, some spells, and more sneak attack, though you have to be evil. One level of Barbarian gives you 10' fast movement, d12 HD, 1BAB, and plenty of proficiency. One level of Cleric gives you a nice way to stabalize bleeding people, plus it boosts two saves. One level of Spellthief improves your sneak attack, plus it lets you steal 1st level spells and use them on people, which can be very fun. JaronK |
| ninjarabbit07-05-06, 10:14 PM | Another vote for monk with the ascetic rogue feat: 20th level unarmed monk damage, + 2 to all saves, flurry of blows, and either stunning fist or improved grapple |
| dokesa07-06-06, 10:10 AM | 2nd level of warlock is detect magic at will. So that isn't great....Two levels of warlock are incredible for skill-monkey rogues when you get beguiling influence and leaps and bounds. |
