I and a few buddies are doing a one on one arena dual...the rules for it are:
43 point build for ability scores, and the 760,000gp @20th lvl can be spent any way one wants.

I was thinking either straight Warmage (luv them), or a straight Druid (I'm not familiar with them).

Any ideas and help would be great.

:D

The only other things that come into play are that single use items cost 5x's thier listed amount(potions, elemental gems, etc.)

Again, any advice would help, and all suggestions are welcome. :)

Ok since complete arcane is available to use (since you are includeing warmage)
Try a Human Cleric 3rd/warmage 3rd/mystic theurge 7th/initiate of sevenfold 7th

cleric will qualify you for the abjuration requirement (there are exactly five 4th level abjuration spells in PHB)

you will be able to wear light armor and cast any spell with no failure. You will have extreemly nice sevenfold abilities,

you can cast:cleric 10th (5th level spells)
:warmage 17th (9th level spells)

BAB: +9 (can make this +20 fighter BAB with divine metamagic (persistant) feat. Then you can persistant divine power spell. Take Domains 1) Planning (for free extend spell feat) and 2) undeath (free extra turning))

Will have 8 feats: 5 are used for this build, spell focus and greater spell focus (abjuration), skill focus (spellcraft), persistant spell, divine metamagic (persistant)

hope you like it, have fun.

Sounds quite good, and I'll have to give it a go. From how it looks it should be fun to use :D

Any thoughts on items, armor, and weapons using the above restrictions on items?

Thank-you for your advice Paradoxmage. I've been finding your advice to be deadly and sound as well.

Curiosity though, What would you build with the guidlines to combat a Ur-Priest, Dwarven Runecaster, Mystic Theurge Build? I was told on the first round if he survived I was dead...not to sure but I think He'll be trying to Insta-kill.... {Apperantly he doesn't think the long game is worth it} :heehee

Was also thinking of a Whisper Gnome, Rogue 10, Invisable Blade 5, X5...

Well you could take the feat Initiate of Mystra (located in players guide to faerun) at 3rd level. Mystra will have to be your patron deity (so you would have to have 2 different Domains. You would have to take the feat extra turning or have a cha boosting item. Then you would also have to take the extend spell feat).
This will allow you to cast an Antimagic Field around yourself (or a specific area) and still be able to cast spells at your opponent (where as his spells will be able to do nothing to you). Then when he comes close enough to you (leave the Anti field), Use Kalidascopic doom (if he looks like he buffed himself for defense). When in melee range activate a double warding (indigo so still cant effect you with spells and spell like and yellow so does 80 points of damage every time he attacks you), then just destroy him with your fighter base attack and expensive weapon. All your boosts will still be working at this point(hopefully most of his wont).
In the begining (after setting up anti field and persistant divine power) if your opponent is getting his buffs ready send spell after spell at him (don’t worry about all the buffs because you will use Kalidoscopic Doom to annihilate him for every buff he casts). Just don’t let up (maybe inbetween each spell attack add a buff to yourself). Round after round take as many HP as you can from him. He will have to spend his healing (if he memorizes any, more than likely he will have a perminant rune with healing) trying to counteract the damage you will be dealing.
Use all your Divine spells for buffs/remove/anyspell. Use anyspell to get 1st and 2nd level wizard spells that you dont have (like shield, truestrike, ray of enfeeblement, invisibility). You will need to spend a few gold on a spellbook or some scrolls. As long as he is in sight and is in range use all range arcane spells you can cast.

Hope this helps :D good luck, let me know how it turns out.
