| WizardlyFriend07-21-05, 04:51 PM | is it worth it to have a figher like this? human with the following flaws: innatentive, weak willed 4 feats to start fighter 20: 11 bonus figher feats more feats at 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18 4 + 6 + 11 = 21 21 feats you could pull off plenty of good combos, but im wondering is it worth it vs. having a lot fewer feats and class abilities? (also since youd be going straight fighter youd get more attacks and a better BAB than if you prestige) |
| SwollenOstrich07-21-05, 05:10 PM | It depends what you mean by worth it. In terms of feats, I dont know that its possible to get more than 21 by lev 20. Boy did I pick the wrong board to say that on. |
| EvilDuck07-21-05, 05:29 PM | Human Fighter 18/PsyWar 2. With two flaws, that results in 22 feats at level 20. |
| Previn07-21-05, 06:08 PM | Human Ranger 3/Fighter 2/Psychic Warrior 2/Soul Knife 1/Cleric 1/Wu Jen 1/Psion 1/Swashbuckler 1/Artificer 8 20 levels Total feats: Human: 1 Levels: 7 Ranger: 3 (Track, Combat style, Endurance) Fighter: 2 Psychic Warrior: 2 Soul Knife: 2 (Weapon Focus: Mindblade, Wild Talent) Cleric: 2 (Domains) Wu Jen: 1 Psion: 1 Swashbuckler: 1 (Weapon Finesse) Artificer: 8 (Scribe Scroll, Brew Potion, Craft Wonderous Item, Craft Homunculus, Craft magic Arms and Armor, Craft Wand and 2 bonus feats) 30 feats |
| Pellanor07-21-05, 06:28 PM | You didn't include the Psion feat. You can always throw VoP on top of that for an extra 11 feats. That would give you 41 feats in 20 levels. |
| WizardlyFriend07-21-05, 07:35 PM | You didn't include the Psion feat. You can always throw VoP on top of that for an extra 11 feats. That would give you 41 feats in 20 levels. lol, i thought more than one feat/level was a damn good ratio, but more than 2... |
| Previn07-21-05, 07:49 PM | You didn't include the Psion feat. You can always throw VoP on top of that for an extra 11 feats. That would give you 41 feats in 20 levels. I don't quite think Artificer and VoP would work out. |
| Urnsk07-22-05, 12:44 AM | Why not? You can make things for your team mates... you wouldn't be terribly efficient in combat, but an Artificer with VOP would be one I'd love to have in the party. Besides: more money to donate. But a Human with 2 flaws Ranger 3/Fighter 2/Psychic Warrior 2/Soul Knife 1/Swashbuckler 1/Monk 2/Psion 1/Wu Jen 1/Cleric 1/Reaping Mauler 1/Feat Rogue 2/Marshal 1/Wizard 1/Contemplative 1 With VoP at 1st level. Human 1 Levels 7 VoP 11 Flaws 2 Ranger 3 Fighter 2 Psychci Warrior 2 Soul Knife 2 Swashbuckler 1 Monk 3 Psion 1 Wu Jen 1 Cleric (Elf, Planning)2 Reaping Mauler 2 Feat Rogue 2 Marshal 1 Wizard 1 Contemplative (Time Domain) 1 45 feats. |
| WizardlyFriend07-22-05, 01:11 AM | heres the sick thing about your build: as a human your favored class could be considered ranger which would mean that you are still not taking penalties for multiclassing >: ) |
| Chaos11688207-22-05, 01:17 AM | lol at that one wizardly but i dont really think this is meant as an actual chacarcter....if it was itd be...interesting to play |
| WizardlyFriend07-22-05, 01:21 AM | lol at that one wizardly but i dont really think this is meant as an actual chacarcter....if it was itd be...interesting to play i once met a man at RPGA who never leveled in the same class twice. he was lvl 10 at the time and had an okay character. i dont remember the build, but i know that weird stuff like that can work. |
| The Rizz07-22-05, 08:45 AM | Actually, I can see a character like this being quite viable, even when going for the maximum possible number of feats. Looking through some books, here's what I came up with: Books Used: Expanded Psionics Handbook, Eberron Campaign Setting, Complete Divine, Complete Warrior, Book of Exalted Deeds Human: Cleric 1 / Fighter 2 / Heir of Siberys 3 / Hospitaler 1 / Monk 2 / Psychic Warrior 2 / Ranger 3 / Reaping Mauler 1 / Soulknife 1 / Swashbuckler 1 / Sword of Righteousness 3 BAB +15 Saves: Fort +26, Ref +14, Will +14 Skills: Ranger at 1st for 107 skill points + bonus from INT Other abilities: Clerical casting: level 1 Turn/Rebuke Undead Lay on Hands Mark of Siberys: 2/day use a high-level spell-like ability at caster level 15 Total of 45 feats: Clever Wrestling Endurance Heroic Spirit Improved Grapple Improved Unarmed Strike Mobility Mounted Combat Ride-By Attack Sacred Vow Track Two-Weapon Fighting Vow of Poverty Weapon Finesse Weapon Focus (Mind Blade) Wild Talent 1 feat from: Action Boost, Action Surge, Favored in House, Pursue, or Spontaneous Casting 1 feat from: Favored of the Champions, Knight of Stars, or Servant of the Heavens 2 monk feats (don't forget about the UA monk fighting styles) 2 from Cleric domains. (There are many options available, if you look through the books.) Left to spend: 8 feats (any) 1 fighter 2 fighter or psionic 13 Exalted I can see this being a very viable character. Get some two-weapon fighting going, and you can rack up quite a bit of damage. Personally, though, I'd probably give up a few of the bonus feats in order to get some more combat power for something like this. Perhaps something like: Chameleon 2 / Citadel Elite 4 / Fighter 2 / Monk 2 / Nightsong Enforcer 1 / Ranger 2 / Soulknife 1 / Swashbuckler 1 / Sword of Righteousness 3 / Tactical Soldier 2 You still have 38 feats total, less are wasted on prerequisites for classes, you have a better AC and higher damage bonus, a +1d6 sneak attack, several fun class abilities to play with, and BAB +17. (The only real disadvantage is that the saves drop to 18/12/12.) |
