Take a sublime ur theurge build, throw in some divine metamagic, persistant spell, and as many extra turning/rebuking you can

Around level 17-18, you'd be able to 24 hours time stop...

Ugly

Even Cleric 1/Wizard 17 can ...

There are a few problems with this...

First of all, I was under the impression that Divine Metamagic could only apply to divine spells. Of course, there are plenty of clerical domains that give you Time Stop as a spell, so that's no big deal, but as you put it won't work.

Also, I am a firm believer in the idea that Time Stop's duration is instantaneous, not 1d4+1 rounds. If you'll notice in the spell description under duration, it explains that the 1d4+1 rounds is actually only "apparent time" and to see the text. Since you're free to act for 1d4+1 rounds of apparent time, but no time actually passes, then the spell is effectively (and if you ask me, legally) instantaneous.

Just my two cents, though. 24-hour time stop is disgusting enough to houserule that it's instantaneous even if you don't agree with me...

Everything Baudolino said, with "Divine metamagic works only on divine spells, check the errata" added.

It would just be too sick. And too silly. And too good to be true.

time stop spell, could you use the virtual 24 hours the spell
lasts to rest and recover your spells?
You can’t make time stop persistent. (Its duration is
effectively instantaneous for purposes of the Persistent Spell
feat.)

Oh, well, actually I'm kind of glad to read all of this :p

And the persistant only to divine spells is nice to know too, thanks

I must be masochist O_o

Forgive my stupidity here. But what would be the point of a persistent time stop? You can't affect anyone while in it and no one can affect you?

Actually, if you look at it another way, the thread title is valid. You do get 24 hours timestop - for your enemies....

Actually, you'd be kind of hungry after that, given you can't interract with any food during such a period and hangiong around at light speed is certainly exhausting for muscles, thus, energy consuming...

You'd die of starvation in a couple of "hours" I guess
even sleeping... top speed snoring can ruin your health

Erm... As a DM, I'would allow any nonmagical shoes to be stolen during a time stop and non magical pants too, cuz multiverse can be weird sometimes

But it's just me

Sigh, I have to chose 2 9th level spells to know for my sublime chord, and this one might not be on the list... Can't decide, actually I find 9th level spells to... suck (oh they are indeed powerful, but have no flavor, no style... I might as well consider lower level spells to be cast)

While it's true that Divine Metamagic won't work for divine spells, post errata, as I understand it there's a combination of Illumian sigils that will pull in a similar result...with no restrictions as to spell types.

Naenhoon. It'll only work twice a day, but, hey, arcane beggars can't be choosers.

But the question is, do you get a bonus to stealing your OWN pants during a Time Stop, since you're effectively moving at lightspeed?

Making a 9th level spell Persistent is easy - Artificer is simplest, but there's also the Midnight Metamagic feat from MoI. However, Timestop wouldn't work, because the actual duration is more like instantaneous (as mentioned).

Personally, I'd rule that it extends the "real time" duration without affecting the apparent time - meaning that you get 1d4+1 rounds of action during a 24-hour period - so it turns it into a personal Temporal Stasis variant.
