| The_Yellow_Dart_Swinger12-20-03, 08:00 PM | In our next campaign were using the 28 point buy system and I'm planning on being a Druid. So what would be the best way to distribute the points? Also what kind of feats should I pick up using those points? Our party is going to have a Monk, Ranger, Sorcerer, some sort of spontanious divine caster from the miniture's book, and a couple undecided. Thanks. |
| Lord Likk12-20-03, 08:27 PM | which means you can specialize to the umpteenth degree, which is always nice. what lvl are you starting at? are you willing to rely on wild shape to be effective in combat? do you want 9th lvl druid spells or does it not matter, as long as you're really good? |
| The_Yellow_Dart_Swinger12-20-03, 10:14 PM | were starting at lvl 1 and hnn, ninth level spells. Well I can go either way really, again, we got the arcane/divine caster so I figure spell wise I can be just support if needed, though having ninth would be cool, so really it's not to important too me at the moment. With the wildshape at higher levels the Druid can hold his own during melee combat for the most part, but then again summon natures ally at higher levels would be neat too. So i'll leave it up to you guys k? :D |

| Lord Likk12-21-03, 05:48 AM | double post. i'll make the best out of it. with that build, you'll want to use spells to get by until you get wild shape, which means staying out of melee. use that massive party to your advantage; let them risk themselves until you can get away with it!1 |
| RabidWeasel12-21-03, 08:03 AM | Playing a druid that doesn't get into melee seems like a waste to me :D No matter what you do with your druid, make sure you know your spell list! In terms of spell selection, druids have few, but versatile effective options. Spells like creeping cold, flame stike, and arc of lightning let you play a blaster; animal growth, barkskin, and greater magic fang for a melee beast; you can summon unicorns for quick healing and backup in combat, etc. |
