Phylactery of Undead alone will give you a real good boost. Spirit Shaman from Complete Divine might be an interesting way to go if you want to take on fey too. They have abilities that affect both incorporeal undead and feys, although pimping out a clerics turning check is probably still stronger against undead. Here's a couple more recent threads on turning. http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=549373 http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=415717 |
| EVILFOX12-09-05, 10:35 AM | thx on the these.. we r starting lvl 1, but we're going play through must lvls so i think we may go epic the books allowed are the 3.5 published by wizards..racs,completes,magic of faerun..and etc..but the party is a duo of thw twin brothers caught within of whirlwond of terror as their city is attacked by undead...evry body is turne except fore some people..yes resident evil...but undead aren't all we're dealing with..is terror all around, demons ,fey...so i was thinking of a build..my pc is a cleric of a divinity tha the domains are: glory, healing, sun, celerity, liberation i must take sun to get into pelor super healer..but do you have other ideas? i don't think we will be able to trust many items in this campaing...the stores of magic items will be unnavaiable... |

With just two people in your party you’ll want to be able to hold your own in melee. You have good enough stats to try to spread them around a little too. I’d go… Str 18 Dex 12 Con 16 Int 14 Wis 16 Cha 14 With the Glory Domain your turn check will still be pretty solid with a 14 Charisma. If you keep pushing your wisdom up at level 4, 8 and so on 16 is plenty high for starting wisdom. Dex at 12 is fine because ultimately you’ll want to get in full plate armor. The high strength and con is to give you the boost you need to do well in melee. A very strong build for a cleric feats wise is to get Divine Metamagic(persistent). So Extra Turning, Extend Spell, Persistent Spell, and Divine Metamagic(Persistent Spell). If your DM doesn’t like Divine Metamagic it leaves feat choices more open. For your campaign Improved Turning might not be bad. I like Divine Spell Power but if you can’t really pick the magic items you want it’s not as good. It’s tough to pick feats for a cleric, there are a lot of ways you can go, feats to improve your combat skills might not be bad either. I’d be tempted to look at crafting feats if your DM is pretty stingy with the magic items. Sounds like you might not be able to buy materials and have time to craft, so I’d ask your DM first. |
