| Patryn Runner08-12-05, 06:36 PM | I need a 3 class build for a changeling Rogue with 20 levels All WOTC allowwed CHANGELING ROGUE STATS (subject to change if need be) (28 pt buy) STR 10 DEX 14 CON 14 INT 14 WIS 10 CHA 14 As the party's only Rogue I need some ideas on a prestige class to take. We are playing in Ebberon. I'd like to incorporate warshaper into the build, but my new DM will only allow us to have 3 classes, total. Only three classes, this includes starting class and prestige classes. Not sure where to go with this and help would be appreciated. If you'd like to suggest a three class build that doesn't include warshaper, go for it. Thanks |

Or you can assist your stealth with some spellcasting and go Arcane Trickster (Doesn't really matter whether you choose Sorcerer or Wizard; but personally, I'd go Sorcerer with Eschew Materials for vertasility). |
| Aramas08-12-05, 06:47 PM | Do you need to have trapfinding? If not then the first two Changeling Rogue substitution levels are nice. Problem is that the first one substitutes trapfinding for better social skills. Changeling Rogue 1-6 / Cabinet Trickster 1-5 / Warshaper 1-4 / Rogue 7-10 That'd be pretty potent. |
| Patryn Runner08-12-05, 07:27 PM | Trapfinding is pretty important. Remember I am the party's only rogue. I'll check out the substitution levels though. Is Cabinet Trickster really worth it? I don't remember anything being of much of use there. Thanks for the help though. |
| slade_caizer08-12-05, 10:54 PM | Changeling Rogue10/Warlock6/TelflammarShadowlord6 or Rogue6/Warshaper5/NightsongEnforcer9 If you could use more than 3 classes I would've suggested: Rogue3/Warlock6/Warshaper5/TelflammarShadowlord6 |
| Aramas08-12-05, 11:16 PM | Cabinet Trickster improves your Change Self abilities and gives you Detect Thoughts along with some neat thought tricks. If you need trapfinding I wouldn't pick up any of the Changeling Rogue Racial substitution levels. |
| PhoenixInferno08-13-05, 01:29 AM | Isn't Rogue 5/Cabinet Trickster 5/Mindspy 5 a valid build? Lots of wonderful doppleganger flavor. |
| Ogre Mage08-13-05, 04:16 AM | For a strong skirmisher combatant, I highly recommend Rogue 12/Ranger 4/Warshaper 4. Ranger and Rogue have great multiclass synergy in 3.5 and the warshaper abilities really put it over the top. I would recommend the ranger two-weapon fighting route over the archery route. This build is also exceedingly deadly with a spiked chain, though Rogue 12/Fighter 4/Warshaper 4 may be a bit better to get the many desired feats that go with a spiked chain build. On the downside, you lose in versatility because of the fighter's weak skill list and lack of skill points. |
| Zubon08-13-05, 11:03 AM | Chameleon is always popular along those lines, maybe something like Rogue 9/Warshaper 4/Chameleon 7. If you get to start at level 6 or higher, you can even take that substitution level and just keep one Aptitude Focus perpetually in Stealth Focus, since that would give you Trapfinding. That class order would go something like Rogue 5/Chameleon 2/Warshaper 4/Chameleon 3-7/Rogue 6-9. Of course, being stuck in Stealth Focus takes away some of the point of being a Chameleon. |
