| FrothyMonkey05-10-04, 08:36 PM | Gotta make a cleric, poor party doesn't have anyone who can cast any kind of healing. Race: Human Deity: Gond (Planning Domain = free extend spell, Metal Domain has some nice spells too) 1 Clr1 (Spellcasting Prodigy, Power Attack) 2 Clr2 3 Clr3 (Divine Might) 4 Clr4 5 Clr5 6 Clr6 (Reach Spell) 7 Clr7 8 Sacred Exorcist 1 9 SE2 (Persistant Spell <Free Extend Spell from Planning Domain>) 10 Contemplative 1 (Mysticism) 11 SE3 12 SE4 (Quickened Spell) 13 SE5 14 SE6 15 SE7 (Spell Penetration) 16 SE8 17 SE9 18 Clr8 (Greater Spell Penetration) 19 Clr9 20 Clr10 BAB +13 Fort +10 Will +15 Refl +6 (ew) So, what is the consensus here? Wrong metamagic feats? It was suggested I take a level in Hierophant for the free Divine Reach ability, but I am afraid of losing spell caster levels. Another suggestion was something like Paladin 1/Cleric 4/Hospitalier 9/Contemplative 1/Sacred Exorcist 5. Again however I am afraid of losing that spell caster level, not to mention the feat and skill hunger of Hospitalier. Do you think it's that good however? Anyways, any advice would be appreciated, danke. |

Low-dex clerics really shouldn't be relying on ray spells very much. If I took it at all, it might be through a late-level (18-20) dip into Heirophant, when the caster-level hit won't hurt as much. But you seem to place a higher value on it. Is Book of Exalted Deeds allowed? EDIT: How do you plan on getting around the Knowledge(the planes) issue? I forogt about this, since clerics didn't get that skill in 3.0. Your max ranks aren't enough to get into SE at level 8. There was a lot of talk about lowering that barrier (b/c otherwise clerics couldn't take SE until level 12), but did anything ever official happen? |
