| Pegeyepete02-18-04, 10:35 PM | I've been in an online game for two years now with my conjuror and I've hit that point where I'm not so sure what to do. I've reached 6th level and am about to reach 7th so I'm thinking about the future. It's a low magic world so my spell list is very limited as the DM won't allow me to buy spells. Basically my question is; with what I have where should I go to get the best out of my character by level 10? Right now my stats and feats are as follows: Str 14 Dex 11 Con 16 Int 17 Wis 14 Cha 10 Feats: Scribe Scroll Iron Will Spell Focus (Conj) Greater Spell Focus (Conj) Skill Focus (Concentration) Extend Spell I usually use the character as support w/ Grease, Glitterdust, Sleet Storm, etc... Any input would be appreciated. Also just so you know my barred school is transmutation. |

| Pegeyepete02-18-04, 11:30 PM | if you dont want to specialize again (incantatrix specialize in abjuration) you can take another spell focus and wait for archmage to come available at 15th level Now I'm a bit confused. The Incantatrix description mentions I can't choose Transmutation as my barred school. Since I've already chosen it as a conjuror does that mean I can't take the class? Also with double specialization I'd still only get the extra spells that normal specialization would give me, just the new bonus to spellcraft vs. abjuration, right? If I can still take the class then I'll probably go that way, as it was I was thinking make it to 9th as wizard then at 10th take the Exorcist from DotF. |
| Penguin Master02-19-04, 02:25 AM | The class says nothing about any restrictions like the ones you're talking about with the school specialization. Yes, you would get another spell slot per level for double spec. I failed to mention that Incantatrix is typically only useful if you take it to level 10 and have 3+ metamagic feats. Suggestions: Chain Spell, Quicken Spell, Repeat Spell. |

Penguin Master's suggestion of Chain Spell is a good one. I'm dying to play a mid-level sorcerer with Grease and Chain Spell. "I cast a chained grease on the evil cleric's holy symbol, and his back-up holy symbol, and both his shoes, and his weapon, and his shield, and on the fighter-minion's shoes....." You deprive that cleric of his [un]holy symbol, and he has a problem casting quite a few of his spells, or dealing with undead. Chained grease is fun. Chain Spell is also good for things like haste (basically mass haste for free), greater magic weapon (now the whole party has magic weapons!), basically any buff spell. |
