I am currently planing to create a transmuter specialist for a campaign
we are using 3.0 as main rule, only change is the inate spell feat that is from 3.5 (PGtF) (i think it is the only change important for me)

str 10
dex 14
con 16
int 21 (27 with an item)
wis 10
cha 10
my not allowed school is evocation
i have 7 character levels atm and i was thinking about going the way to incantatrix (3.0 rules) at 6 and giving up my illusions, my dm allowed me to get some illusion spells (2 per spell level till spell level 4) into my book before we start

now i am thinking about using the inate spell ability to mainly focus on spells like dimension door, teleport, greater dispel magic, teleport without error and mordenkainen's disjunction)

the problem is, that i would loose many feats for it (2 feats + 1 feat for every spell i choose), i am not sure if it is worth to blow up so many feats

the Archmage is no option for my character so i dont have to get 2 spell focus and 1 skill focus feat (we decided that the class is to strong)

Ehrm...that Int sounds awfully high for a seventh level character. You started at a 20? What race are you?

tiefling, but we use another system for the LA, i gain the bonus of the race over time

I don't know what the Inate spell feat is, since I don't own PGtF. Can you use them only once per day, 2-3 times per day, at will, or what? It only costs feats to get this, or permanent spell slots too?

If you are limited to only a few uses per day, and it costs feats and permanent spell slots, I'd say it's not worth taking at all. Take Craft Wonderous Item and make items that give you the ability to cast these spells a few times a day, instead.

1) Innate Spell requires Silent Spell and Still Spell
2) For Innate spell you pick 1 spell, sacrifice 1 spell slot to get it as a spell-like ability 3 times/day

edit: so it's like a better version of the Archmage high arcana spell-like ability, but the downside is that you need 2 pretty much useless feats and you have to waste a feat for each spell you want a spell-like ability of

would extend + persistant (3.0) feats make more sense?

craft feats are nice, but i realy dont know if i want to waste all my exp on items (ok, it is much cheaper, but then again i have to think about going the transmuter way, cause i think i would need much more spells of all different levels for item creation stuff)

I have no idea what you were trying to say in the rest of it. What the heck is "the transmuter way" (being a specialist wizard instead of a generalist I'm guessing), why should that limit your item creation, and what are you talking about needing "much more spells of all different levels for item creation stuff"?

It doesn't take that much XP to craft magic items, and it is a hell of a lot better to spend some XP and gold, in my opinion, than spend a whole bunch of feats and permanent spell slots for the same abilities.

sorry for my stupid writings, my english wasnt the best at that moment :)
with transmuter way i meant the specialisation

with the other things i was thinking about what would be best, to stay transmuter or to be generalist, i personaly realy dont like being a blaster mage, that is why i thought i should get that banned from my list of possibilities

and now i ended up with not taking the innate spell feat and the 2 prereq feats

i will take create wondrous item and extend spell as 2 of my feats, iron will for the incantatrix but what then? going persistant? going empowering (i dont think that this feat would give me much without evocation spells at my service)
