| Epicuris07-06-03, 12:17 PM | With 3.5's release just around the corner, my group and I have decided to make a fresh start with the new rules for a campaign. I've dicided I want to test out the tweeks (or complete overhaul, if you will) on the Bard. I plan on making him focus on his spellcasting. I understand I won't know all the changes to 3.5 until I get the books, but I was wondering if there are any old builds I might consider (build on past knowledge, so to say). It's set in the Forgotten Realms and he is human, so one of his starting feats will be Spellcasting Prodigy (bardic). Any adivce will be welcomed. Thanks. |
| A Man In Black07-06-03, 01:29 PM | For the record, it's Spellcasting Prodigy (charisma). How about Bard 20? You keep music, lore, and magic all the way up. Spell Focuses on Illusion and Enchantment will do you well for your whole career. You could always go Harper Mage for only one wasted feat (Alertness, which isn't ALL bad) and keep your lore progression. There's Mindbender, for focusing on mind control. Bards make perfectly good Fatespinners, as well. Wait until Snow Savant comes and hits you with a barrage of ideas that DON'T suck, though. :D |
