I am in a high fatality game so having a backup character is always a good idea. In this game we use the following for generating stats: 12 + 1D6. So, you end up with a range of 13-18 + any racial modifiers. Pretty darn good stats, right?

Given this fact, what would be some characters that I could make that are very stat intensive? I'm looking to test builds that normally in a 32-pt buy aren't viable.

My first idea is to try a monk or monk-hybrid.

All Wotc (non-OA) books are available in a FR setting.

Thanks in advance!

Try something that heavily relies on Cha, like the Holy Liberator.

Another good PrC is the Iaijutsu Master from OA. It has a few abilities that are based on stat mods.

1. Barbarian 1 - Destructive Rage, Power Attack
2. Fighter 1 - Cleave
3. Ranger 1 - Extra Rage
4. Ranger 2 - Two Weapon Combat
5. Ranger 3 - Endurance
6. Horizon Walker 1 - Intimidating Rage (Tirelessness)
7. Frenzied Berserker 1
8. Frenzied Berserker 2
9. Frenzied Berserker 3 - Iron Will
10. Holy Liberator 1
11. Holy Liberator 2
12. Holy Liberator 3 - Improved Critical (Greatsword)
13. Frenzied Berserker 4
14. Frenzied Berserker 5
15. Frenzied Berserker 6 - Divine Might
16. Frenzied Berserker 7
17. Frenzied Berserker 8
18. Frenzied Berserker 9 - Feat
19. Frenzied Berserker 10
20. Ranger 4

Get yourself to be the "victim" of a Polymorph Any Object so that you can be a Firbolg (requires min 14 Int to be a permanent effect).

Iaijutsu Master all the way. Dip into classes like Monk and Shiba Protector to increase the cheese factor.

poster 1: i'm allowed to use all books but book X

poster 2: definently use Y class from book X

poster 3: yeah, Y class is awesome

why, whenever someone says something, like "no OA" or "No FR", the first few or more posts are all suggestions using those sources. you morons make me sick. HELP HIM. Don't give him crap he can't use.

moving on..

Well, with high enough stats, MAD shouldn't be a problem.
Paladin/Monk.
another Idea i had for a build was this: Cleric 7 / Divine Crusader xxx
the feats are limited to thus:(human build)(use Kord as god)
1 extend spell, persistent spell
3 divine metamagic
6,9.... all extra turning

it'll be like this with a charisma of 18
level/turning per day/
clr 1 7
clr 2 7
clr 3 11 (extra turning)
clr 4 11 (19 cha)
clr 5 11
clr 6 15 (extra turning)
clr 7 15
dvc 8 16 (20 cha)
dvc 9 20 (extra turning)
dvc 10 20
(domains: competition(SC), strength, good for DVC)
all you need at 10th level is a +2 cha item, or a single casting of eagles splendor (a cleric spell) to persistify 3 spells.
i say,
Divine Power (to keep your BAB, so you qualify for Divine Crusader)
Enlarge Person (large size, str upping)
Weapon of the Deity (SC) (+1 mighty cleaving greatsword)
or, if your greatsword is good enough already
Holy Transformation (lesser) (SC)

Since this is FR I say paladin all the way. What kind of paladin? Any kind you want!

Paladin 20 with Mystic Fire Knight 5 and 6, Sword of the Arcane Order, Power Attack, Divine Power, Divine Shield...

The problem with the build is that it requires 4 good stats (Strength, Constitution, Wisdom, Charisma) to work at full power. In this campaign, that seems very easily doable.

An elven thinblade master, something like a swashbuckler3/fighter4/exoticweaponmaster1/championofcorellon2/x10

With the uncanny blow ability from EWM you get 2x your str modifer + int modifier + dex modifier to your weapon damage, throw in something with turn undead and get divine might and you can get your cha modifer to your weapon damage too.

Hmm, a MAD build. Well now here's the thing. The only builds that I have or can think of that are MAD are MAD because of the flavor. Having all high attributes does not necessarily make a more powerful character. I just made one for someone that had a +4 overall and whose highest stat is a 14. It is going to be the most powerful character in the group from level 7 onward (I know the group), will completely kick ass by 5, and is playable from 1.

I have many builds that benefit from all high stats. 95%+ of all builds do. The strongest of all builds focus on one stat (unless all your stats are 40+ or something, then who knows, I've never tried to optimize such a character).

You absolutely need to have a character concept to ask us to help you. Anything else is just too vague.

Is this the new Thread Necromancy record? Its been here about as long as I have. I remember those guys...CO luminaries if I ever saw 'em.

You see, back when we was young'uns, we just tossed any ol' idea about - no regards to the OP's book restrictions. Those were the good ol' days... :D

Monk 2/Swashbuckler 3/Soldier of Light 2/Shou Disciple 5/Champion of Corelon Larethian 6/Fighter 2
With that you get:
Wis to AC
Cha to Saves
Int to Damage
Dex to Damage
Weapon Specialization
Turn Undead for Divine Might (Cha to hit and damage)
Repectable Dodge feat (+5 AC vs one opponent iirc)
CoCL's Corellon Wrath for more bonus damage
Lay on Hands
Flurry with any melee weapon
Enough bonus feats
Mad critical range for all thos +static damage
You are just as deadly with weapons as without them

Its one hell of a two-weapon fighter with respectable saves. Nothing ugly of-course, but for an optimised monster you dont need godly stats - you need weak-minded DM.
Stat priority Dex>Int=Cha>Wis>Con>Str (at least 13 Str for Power Attack)
Dont have my books with me so not sure if you meet the prerequisitives, but will check latter.

How did this thread not get pruned over new years?
