| Visigoth09-15-04, 10:40 PM | I have been working on creating my character for a new game and am having a problem finalizing my feats. I'm starting at third level and so far I've got this for my feats: Blind-fight, Dodge, Mobility, Improved Unarmed Strike, Stunning Fist and Combat Reflexes. Since I'm just using the PHB I can't use the feats that are listed in other monk guides and am really at a loss as to how to finalize my character. I'm just not sure about the dodge path, but I think having spring attack would be a nice addition especially due to the increasing speed through the levels. Any thoughts on my choice of feats? Thanks. |

Monk1 Improved Unarmed Strike*, Stunning Attack*, Blind-fight, Dodge Monk2 Combat Reflexes* Monk3 Mobility ...ask if you can take the feats from the Monster Manual. Ability Focus specifically, and ask your DM if you can use Improved Natural Attack as well. Otherwise... Monk6 Spring Attack, Improved Trip* Monk9 Weapon Focus (unarmed) Monk12 TWF Monk15 Leadership Monk18 Imp TWF Monk20 - You can take feats you only qualify for with magic items, so long as you have that magic active. That means qualifying for TWF and Imp TWF. |

If he does allow anything from say just the core books (will have to pick up the MM) would it be a good idea to change some of my currently selected feats? Since I've not finalized my character I can play around with what I originally listed. Perhaps add the ability focus and improved natural attack instead of the dodge/mobility feats? One thing that might make a difference is that I do have a high value on tumble. It's level limited with a +3 DEX bonus. I'm pretty new to D&D (only one campaign lasting a year or so using 2nd ed) and am real new to 3.x. Thanks |
