It includes: Psionic Prodigy [General] You have an exceptional gift for psionics. Benefit: For the purposes of determining bonus power points and the saving throw DCs of powers you manifest, treat the key ability score associated with your primary discipline as 2 points higher than its actual value. A psionic character without a primary discipline treats her highest ability score (when this feat is chosen) as her primary ability for purposes of this feat. Special: You may take this feat as a 1st-level character only. You can take this feat even if you don't have any classes that manifest psionic powers yet. Psionic classes that do not gain bonus power points do not gain any additional power points from this feat. Note: This feat is the psionic version of Spellcasting Prodigy from the Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting, and you should treat it similarly when determining if this feat should be allowed in your game. While psionics may not have been officially converted over to 3.5 yet, this feat was "published" by WotC after the release of 3.5, implying that it is fully compatible. To me, that sounds like an endorsement of the psionic Spellcasting Prodigy, which implies that Spellcasting Prodigy will not be significantly altered in 3.5. I just thought I would point this out, since I have frequently heard that 3.5 builds should not include Prodigy because it is too good and going to be cut back, in the way that Spell Power was. This implies the contrary, and should provide good evidence for keeping Prodigy in 3.5 builds until WotC says otherwise. Of course, the note at the end seems to imply, "Oh, FR is way overpowered, so watch out if you use it in your campaign." But that is kind of the point of this board, ne? (reference: Nar Demonbinder, Teflammar Shadowlord, 3.0 Archmage, 3.0 Red Wizard, Incantatrix, etc.) |

At some point all the Mind's Eye articles will be updated to 3.5 - the earlier ones will get edited more than the latter ones, for obvious reasons. If Spellcasting Prodigy gets nerfed, so will the psionic feat, although they might remove the note. |
| Funny Slaughter08-30-03, 06:35 PM | i do also think that prodigy will get a nerv. it was really good resp. close to overpowered before and would be much better with the nerf to spell focus. i am not sure if minds eye is 3.5, but i would be really surprised if SP is uncanged within a FR-update. gs Funny |

The difference is inherent to psionics and not the feat it'sself, but still worth considering. |

It won't be until January or was it April or May next year. the one in the SRD is the 3.0 still. It will not be posted until the Psionic 3.5 book is published (and probably not for a day after). |
