| Dendofuman07-31-03, 05:35 PM | This is just a build I've been thinking about recently; please let me know what you think. Because I may eventually play this character in the Living Greyhawk Campaign, I would like to limit the material to the core 3.5 books. Human Rog 15 / Ftr 2 / Rgr 2 / Brb 1 1: Rog 1 [SA 1d6], Dodge, Combat Expertise 2: Rog 1 / Rgr 1 [Favored Enemy, Track] 3: Rog 1 / Rgr 2 [Combat Style: TWF], Mobility 4: Rog 2 / Rgr 2 [Evasion] 5: Rog 3 / Rgr 2 [SA 2d6] 6: Rog 3 / Rgr 2 / Brb 1 [Fast movement, Rage], Spring Attack 7: Rog 3 / Rgr 2 / Brb 1/ Ftr 1 Improved TWF 8: Rog 4 / Rgr 2 / Brb 1/ Ftr 1 [Uncanny Dodge] 9: Rog 5 / Rgr 2 / Brb 1/ Ftr 1 [SA 3d6], Improved Trip 10: Rog 6 / Rgr 2 / Brb 1/ Ftr 1 11: Rog 7 / Rgr 2 / Brb 1/ Ftr 1 [SA 4d6] 12: Rog 8 / Rgr 2 / Brb 1/ Ftr 1 [Improved Uncanny Dodge], Improved Feint 13: Rog 9 / Rgr 2 / Brb 1/ Ftr 1 [SA 5d6] 14: Rog 9 / Rgr 2 / Brb 1/ Ftr 2 Greater TWF 15: Rog 10/ Rgr 2 / Brb 1/ Ftr 2 Opportunist, (OPEN FEAT) 16: Rog 11/ Rgr 2 / Brb 1/ Ftr 2 [SA 6d6] 17: Rog 12/ Rgr 2 / Brb 1/ Ftr 2 18: Rog 13/ Rgr 2 / Brb 1/ Ftr 2 [SA 7d6], Crippling Strike, (OPEN FEAT) 19: Rog 14/ Rgr 2 / Brb 1/ Ftr 2 20: Rog 15/ Rgr 2 / Brb 1/ Ftr 2 [SA 8d6] I was hoping to use Improved Trip/Feint whenever I couldn’t flank or otherwise sneak attack an opponent. I was thinking of taking TW Defense for one of the open feats, but I honestly don’t think that it would be worth it. I was also considering taking Exotic Weapon Proficiency with the Dire Flail so that I could trip with it. Any suggestions as to what I should do with these two feats would be much appreciated. |

| Dendofuman07-31-03, 05:44 PM | So do you still think the level in Brb is worth it just for the Fast Movement, or should I drop it and take another level of Rog (and gain another special ability). |
| greymarch07-31-03, 05:50 PM | What's the BAB on this character? I hope its +16. Remember, when using spring attack, you can only attack once. You cannot get your full-attack action and then spring away. When playing a character with two-weapon fighting, I try to stay away from spring attack, since you can never use it with the two-weapon fighting feats. |
| Dendofuman07-31-03, 05:57 PM | When playing a character with two-weapon fighting, I try to stay away from spring attack, since you can never use it with the two-weapon fighting feats. What feat would you recommend taking in its place? Would you also drop Dodge and Mobility? |
| mormagli07-31-03, 06:06 PM | take the special ability, there are other ways to up your movement, and those special abilities are Very nice. If, however, you are going to play this charachter from level 1, you might want to consider taking three levels in barbarian, this will drop your sneak attack by a d6, but it will up you BAB, hit points, and you will get improved uncanny dodge a lot earlier. just something to think about, but my recomandation is still the special ability... if you do take levels in barb. look into taking reactive rage (or whatever it's called) and then taking defensive roll as you special ability: then you can save your rage for when you need it most hit point-wise... sort of a second wind to follow your save for half damage. |
| baoban sith07-31-03, 06:31 PM | I would indeed drop dodge and mobility as well, in that you have all the prereq's for whirlwind attack as is. A couple of the sneak attack feats in S&S might be cool, like hamstring, quicker than the eye, expert tactitician and the like. If you want to stay core 3.5, though, maybe Combat reflexes, weapon focus, Imp. Crit/disarm/trip/initiative, two weapon defense could be good choices. I also think the dire flail could be a good choice of weapon in this case. So with your 5 free feats, I'd take exotic weapon pro, imp disarm, imp init., two weapon defense, and combat reflexes. If you take something like double sword, then go for imp. crit. |
| The One and Only...07-31-03, 08:14 PM | I would go Rogue 16/ Ranger 2/ Fighter 2. The real question is are you more interested in accelerating your BAB quickly (in which case, take your warrior levels early) or your Sneak Attack and other Rogue abilities (in which case I think you know the rest). |
| Zombie Lord07-31-03, 08:59 PM | Originally posted by mormagli I don't think you can sneak attack while raging, otherwise, it's a solid build Sneak attack isn't something that you specifically say you are going to do. You get the bonus damage on any attack you hit with where the situation allows you to get the sneak attack. |
| JosephKell07-31-03, 09:52 PM | You know you can't use Improved Feint with Two-Weapon Fighting. Feinting In Combat only applies to your next attack... so even if you do one attack in round A, and then do a Full-Round Attack the next round with Two-Weapon Fighting, you still get Sneak Attack with just one of them. So you will be flanking a lot... I hope you are the 5th party member... |
