Need help/adivce/tips/opinions/thoughts.. on building a power wizard based character using the 32 point system, e.i (fighter/wizard/eldritch knight) / (fighter/wizard/spellsword) or just fighter/wizard... feats/ lvls in each class/ race for good racial traits to best feat this build.. etc.. unearthed arcana not allowed by DM.. only a few feats here and there umm other than that the obvious books are allowed

Note: DM allows us to take up to 5points(max) from a single ability and add it to the 32 points for 37points instead.. e.i (Char 8.. take 5 points from to make the 32 37 instead but take the cha 3(-4mod))... can be any ability and anywhere from 1-5 points.. any advice/suggestions greatly appreciated!

Fighter 2/Wizard 4/Spellsword X/Eldritch Knight Y or
Fighter 1/Wizard 6/Spellsword X/Eldritch Knight Y

Set X to 1, 3, or 5 depending on how much ASF/BAB you need and if you want to channel spells.

How powerful do you want to be? It may seem silly, but it is an important question. Is there any particular weapon or fighting style you want? Do you want to add rogue skills in there or focus on fighter/wizard? Are you sure you want a fighter/wizard? A straight wizard is in many ways more powerful (mostly just because they get spells sooner).

For extremely high powered:

Fighter 2/Wizard 4/Spellsword 1/Incantrix 4/Abjurant Champion 5/Eldritch knight 4

Stats:

str 14
dex 14
con 14
int 16
wis 10
cha 10

Necessary feats:

Combat Casting, Practiced Spellcaster, Extend Spell, Persistent Spell, Arcane Diciple (Mysticism or Competition), Iron will.

You get five bonus feats so getting all these doesn't cut in to much to customizing your character.

did you keep in mind the house rule? or do some of those require Char?? sounds very nice.. thanks.. hmm.. nah mainly want to beable to blast with spells and (if needed) atleast have a slight decent melee attack... use actions pts so they become very friendly when i need atleast 3 more pts to hit AC or something : )...

You could conceivably drop cha down to 7 and up int to 17. As is though, the stats I posted are probably optimal. Just up int at each level. You really don't want to drop any stat too low.

Taking prestige classes does not give an experience penalty, so no.

For something a little toned down, try:

Fighter 2/Wizard 6/Spellsword 3/EK 9

Again, take practiced spellcaster. Also take arcane strike, I forgot to mention that one in the first post.

Really though, a straight wizard is a stronger character. (Well, wizard with PRCs). In order to hit, learn a few spells that require a touch attack (or better, ranged touch attack). The only way to really learn how to play a spellcaster is by actually playing one. Believe me, despite the fact that melee fighting is not their greatest strength, they are definitely not weak.

For a nice strong wizard, with a touch of melee prowess, try:

Wizard 5/Incantrix 10/Abjurant champion 5

For pure wizard stats:

Str 10
Dex 14
Con 14
Int 18
Wis 10
cha 8

Dm doesnt allow exhausted deeds, book of vile darkness, anddd unearthed arcana.. thats it.. the rest is open to be... PrC's i like would be Eldritch knight or spellsword.. but i mainly want to be a casting wizard not so much melee
