I need a level 9 pure healer character made for a campaign I am running in about 35 minutes! I haven't had much experience but it's for a party of 4 level 7s, and 3 level 6s. We are doing Skip Williams 'Cave of the Spiders' campaign and without the healer they would have trouble. PLEASE help me by typing up the essentials I need to run a healer than can be useful to them! I will just be using my laptop to run this character, and not putting it on a character sheet, we are in a bit of a rush :(:( Thank you in advance!

(32 point stat system, pure healer, whatever classes you want as long as I can run it off what you type in here. Human or elf.)

PS: I'm not looking for the greatest healer in history, just something that isn't a plain level 9 boring cleric or paladin...something a little creative and fun for them to roleplay with. It won't be helping in combat, only healing when they are too wounded (if it turns out the campaign is too difficult for their level, it's designed for 4 level 9 characters) http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/oa/20030530b&page=1

Human cleric 5/combat medic 4 (from heroes of battle) with vow of nonviolence and the reach metamagic feat, maybe take a spontaneous divine caster instead of cleric ... but that will delay her access to heal.

Will be able to put a DC23 plus wisdom modifier sanctuary effect on any person she heals.

How about healer 5 (from MiHB) instead.

So ...

1 healer 1 - combat casting - dodge
2 healer 2
3 healer 3 - sacred vow
4 healer 4
5 healer 5
6 combat medic 1 - vow of nonviolence
7 combat medic 2
8 combat medic 3
9 combat medic 4 - reach metamagic

I don't have hero of battle, mind giving me the necessities of combat medic? I do have all the complete series if you could use any of those.

Having them watch an episode of family guy, so I have a little bit of time. When posting it I would like this:

Classes: (Book from which the class comes so I can look it up also preferrably)
Race:

Str:
Dex:
Con:
Int:
Wis:
Cha:

HP:
AC:

Spells:

Feats:

Thank you!!!

As for the not attacking, he simply does not want to attack for fear that Mettik (the final 'boss' spider) will seek revenge against him, whereas if he just stays in the back and heals the party it will all be forgotten even if they die. I'll think about a better reason later, but not doing any of the vows, trying not to make it very munchkin-like.

ok, so you say PURE healer. i can suggest things that will get you pure healer and not much else...

vow of poverty, vow of nonviolence, vow of peace, etc. will net you some nifty abilities, but make you a detriment to your group in combat.

i suggest sticking with the RSoP build, with a few feats to increase your healing capability

Race: Human

Class: Cleric (Sun and Healing Domain) 6/ Radiant Servant of (Appropriate Diety) 3

Feats:

Lvl 1. Extra Turning, Agument Healing
Lvl 3. Empower Spell
Lvl 6. Divine Metamagic (Empower)
Lvl 9. Sacred Healing

Skills: Make the requirements, and thats all you have to worry about. Max out concentration, and heal, if you have the ranks.

Stats:

Str: 12
Dex: 10
Con: 14
Int: 8
Wis: 18 (stat increases go here)
Cha: 12

if you want, you can swap Con for Cha, if turning will be a bigger thing.

i would suggest getting the heaviest armor you can carry with that strength, as well as a good shield. forget spending on a weapon, and the only other "must have" would probably be a wand of cure whatever.

spells: don't bother preparing healing, you can spont. them out. i would suggest buffs for the other party members, and such things as remove poison.

btw... this is all from complete divine and PHB, someone could do better if they branched out, but im short on patience for healer builds, and you're short on time

Ok...

Equipment:

Banded Mail

Darkwood Small Wooden Shield

Dagger

Heward's Handy Thingysack... haversack?

this keeps you under your light load, and leaves you with plenty of gold.

i suggest putting a few enchantments on both your banded mail, and shield, but nothing huge, since you wont be in combat. to more easily get to your party members, you could consider boots of striding and springing, and, if your dm will let it work while wearing armor, a monks belt. a staff of healing gives you a few restorative options, but leaves you with next to no money. i would suggest a wand of the highest level cure spells you can cast. this will leave you with plenty of money left over, to buy things that will be useful for this adventure (which i have never played, and therefore cant suggest anything)

Other than the Core Books and Complete Series (i am just absorbing at the moment) there's little i can contribute since i am not *THAT* familiar with the rest...

Besides, i think pyro_cat has the character nailed down with the Radiant Servant of (Pelor or whoever has Sun + Healing domain) build.

For items, how much do you get to play with?

Key magic items for cleric
1. Periapt of Wisdom - More wisdom modifier = more spells = more healing. Comes in +2, +4, +6 bonus to WIS score (not modifier, okay?)
(+2 = 4,000 gp, +4 = 16,000 gp, +6 = 36,000 gp)

2. If you want extra charisma, there are Cloaks of charisma. Works the same way as the Periapt of wisdom but this time it boosts your charisma score. Again, comes in +2, +4, +6 bonus to CHA score
(+2 = 4,000 gp, +4 = 16,000 gp, +6 = 36,000 gp)

Handy haversacks are okay, depending on the weight of items you are carrying. If you have problems in maintaining "light load" then get one, or alternatively, a bag of holding I (2,500 gp).

The rest of your money put it on armor + shields...
