This is a 3e game with no real restrictions regarding multiclassing or PrCs expect no campaign specific material. The only other restriction is that the PC's race must be something from one of the monster manuals. For this character, I am working on a summoner build. Five levels of wizard specialized in conjuration with a level of alienist for access to the pseudonatural template and a level of incantrix for instant metamagic and other abilities. His prohibited school from the start is evocation. Since his focus is not on direct damage dealing (and since everyone else in the party is a melee PC to some extent), the school seemed like a natural one to pick. For the incantrix PrC specialization of Abjuration, I chose Enchantment. My PC: Gromph, Goblin LE Conjurer 5/Alienist 1/Incantrix 1 Stats created from a 78 point buy. All stats starting at zero, stats bought in a 1 for 1 ratio. str 6 (8 - 2 racial modifier) dex 16 (14 + 2 racial modifer) con 16 (14 + 2 from CON toad) int 27 (25 + 2 from Headband of Int) wis 10 cha 6 (8 - 2 racial modifer) Specialist Schools: Conjuration and Abjuration(PrC specialist school) Prohibited Schools: Evocation and Enchantment Feats: 1st Spellcasting Prodigy 3rd Alertness (yes, yes I know my familiar gives me alertness within 5 feet, I just don't want to lose a caster lvl if the familiar is removed/killed.) Wizard Bonus: Extend Spell 6th Iron Will Incantrix Bonus: Repeat Spell That is my build so far. I am planning to continue with incantrix until lvl 9 and finish the build with archmage 5. I was wondering if anyone had other suggestions for possible builds past 7th lvl as well as any thoughts on feat choices as well. |

And as was pointed out to me on another thread, there are alot of spells in the Conjuration School that require saves, so Spell Focus: Conjuration isn't bad by itself. Edit: Wait... is this 3.0? You didn't say, but I see that you only have one prohibited school for specializing, so it must be. In that cast, I don't think Augment Summoning will be available to you, unless your DM allows some stuff from the 3.5 rules. |
