3rd lv One hitter quitter [Archive] - Wizards Community

12-30-06, 04:12 AM Here is my situation, I am looking for a build for a third level character in an arena setting. I am leaning towards a spellcaster. But due to my lack of time to fully research all the possibilities I am requesting the the wisdom of COB patrons.
It is a 32 point build, 3rd level, with these books available
PHB
PHB II
MM
DMG
Complete arcane
Complete divine
Complete warrior
Complete adventurer

Possibly a Grey Elf with a few feats that would boost the DC to the spell saves but I am open for anything.

12-30-06, 04:36 AM For low levels save DC for spell easily boosts by DMM(heighten)
Just take Human Cleric 3 with feats Heighten Spell, DMM(Heighten Spell), Spell Focus.
Put all your points from pb in Wis and Cha, take old age.
Wis 20(+5)
Cha 20(+5)
turning attempts - 3+5=8
Hold Person DC - 10+9(spell effective level heightened to 9)+5(wis)+1(spellfocus) = 25, almost perfect at this level

For melee i recommend to look at Duskblade[PHB2] - cast True Strike, Blade of blood, and next round run to the opponent(using Swift Expeditious Retreat if needed) and attack with arcane channeling and power attack. This give you 8d6+6+str*1.5 damage

12-31-06, 05:20 AM Thanks to two of you for your input on my request. I must admit a mistake in my request, it was not so much a complete build I was desiring but some guidance in the feats as provided by 'thedest'. I will follow up on this and the search topics.

As to 'PhoenixInferno', perhaps I did not ask correctly my ideas but if someone has nothing polite to say then someone does not need to reply at all.
