Allright, so a friend of mine is restarting a 40th level epic campaign, using the 3.5 system. My older character is fairly damn powerful, but Im not really interested in playing a necrophage anymore. So I've got 40 character levels that are completly free for me to do whatever I wish with them. DM suggested that something psionic would be good for later in the campaign, but going over what I have I might be selling myself a bit short with character selection. Right now I'm stuck between a PsiWar 8/Elocator 7/PWM 10/Warmind 5/??? 10 and some form of Arcane-Psionic Gish like a Dwarven PsiWar 5/Wiz 3/Cebremancer 10/Runesmith 2/Elocator 10/??? 10. So, what do you all think?

At epic levels, your 'build' really shoulden't matter. Epic items and epic spells are so powerful at level 40 that all you need to do is make sure that you get 9th level somethings.

40 levels? thats a highpowered campaign, anyways I kinda agree that the build really doesn't matter, I'd make a telepath lvl 40, but thats just me :) Not going into any prestige classes... :)

Think of all the feats you can have! You can go nuts with the metapsionics, crazy craaazy powers, you got 13 epic feats!

3x Epic Psionic Focus
2x Epic Expanded Knowledge (Greater Metamorphosis, Reality Revision)
2x Improved Metapsionics
6x Improved Manifestation with will grant you a total of 144 extra powerpoints, you can take Power Knowledge or Epic Expanded Knowledge if you need some more higher level powers that you didn't get before epic :D

Why Psychic Warrior? You'll be much better off in the long run with a Psion, because they get a lot more power points plus higher level powers. Also, avoid losing manifester levels. At level 40 with Overchannel and Talented, you can make a 43-hour duration Inertial Armor for a +25 armor bonus.

You should find out if you can apply Practiced Spellcaster to Psionics. That way you can make up for losing up to 4 manifester levels. Then go with something like Psion 8/ Illithid Slayer 10/ Elocator 4/ X 18. You should also see if your DM is willing to let certain feats continue to scale in the epic levels, such as Overchannel. I was trying to use the Raptor School feat with a Thri-Kreen. I think I had something like +90 to jump by level 20. If your DM will let feats scale, go Thri-Kreen HD 2/ Egoist 4/ Illithid Slayer 10/ Elocator 4/ Illithid Slayer 18 (28 total)/ LA +2. You'll have a +17 BAB, 34 levels of Psion manifesting (38 with Practiced Spellcaster), good HP, etc. Take the epic feat Dire Charge so you can full-attack on a charge, and abuse Raptor School to do rediculous damage. Maybe take Epic Leadership for a mount, and use Spirited Charge+Raptor School and jump from the mount to attack your enemy. Maybe even take the Psionic Lion's Charge power to get extra damage.

Here's something neat: a level 20 Psion with Craft Universal Item, makes an item with a constant effect of the Timeless Body power. He's immune to all forms of attack, all powers/spells, everything. A disarm or Slight of Hand to take the item, or a Sunder to break it, is an attack, which affects an object attended by your character, therefore it affects your character and he's immune so it can't be done. The only problem may be an antipsionic field, which would suck.
