i would like some ideas for a clue (the boardgame) based adventure that is coming up... any race, any class, any template, 32 pt buy, full hp every level, and not to exceed 5th level total...

show me your stuff... :-)

Do an illusionist or enchanter type caster and use spells to **** with the other players and play on the murder mystery theme, like making fake screams and illusions and stuff.

From what I understand, Clue is one of those "Whodunit" stories right? How 'bout a Diviner 5 (wiz) or Seer 5 (psion). Use your spells and powers to cheat at the game :schemes:

If you want power though... isn't pun-pun level 5?

Definitely Psion (Seer) as GaffeR said -- powers like Object Reading, Sensitivity to Psychic Impressions and Clairvoyant Sense should make investigation a snap!

are they good at clue...?

are they good at clue...?Well, let's see...
Greater Invisibility (at will) means other things at ECL 5 are unlikely to sneak up on it, and it can be an excellent assassin.
Small size, and fly speed with good maneuverability means excellent mobility.
A bunch of 1/day spell-likes, including some illusions for messing with investigators or assassins alike.
Arrows of total memory loss (!!) to make sure nosy people don't remember any incriminating evidence.
Arrows of sleep to set up Coup de Grace, if it comes to that.

The single HD at ECL 5 hurts though. Still, very hard to find, catch, or kill at ECL.

Dragon Shaman 3 (blue) can use ventriloquism at will. Add in two levels of rogue and you're set.

You could always go with Rogue 5. Get a good Dex/Cha and max your stealth/social skills. A little UMD never hurt either - get a wand and make them think that the wizard did it. You're also pleasantly stabbity - consider Craven (feat from Champions of Ruin) to add to that aspect.

Talk with your DM. "Always" an alignment should read "almost always" according to WotC's rules.
