| MstrPaige07-01-05, 04:22 PM | I need a 5th level fighter build that is as broken as can be. Tough job I know. A Chain Tripper Scout, is the best I can come up with at low levels. I want to avoid going straight fighter b/c it seems single class fighters are weak. Fighter 4/Scout 1, or Fighter 2/Barbarian 2/Scout 1 are other options. Help me get broken by 6th level and we're solid. I need maximum feats. But not at the expense of damage. All books are available, almost NO money for magic items. |
| Kelldroth Smite07-01-05, 05:14 PM | 3rd level Swashbuckler[ Complete Warrior], 2nd Level Fighter (human, or Silvanesti Elf [ Dragonlance]) This requires the rolling of at least 3 "high Stats" (16 or over) to be effective. You take your first, 4th and 5th levels in Swashbuckler due to superior skill set. Here is your feat selection. 1st, Take Exotic Weap Prof. Spiked Chain. (Take Weap Foc. if human), Select Spiked Chain as Weapon Finesse [SWB class feature]. 2nd Level, Take Combat Reflexes 3rd, Take Expert Tactician [ +2 to attack and Damage for all alies for one round everytime you hit with an AoO] and Deft Strike [+4 AoO] 4th, SWB gives you grace [+1 reflex whatev] 5th, Swb gives you Intuitive Strike [allows you to add your int mod as well as your strength mod to your spiked chain.] Future leveling would include going Exotic Weapon Master at 7th level for the ability to flurry with the chain, after that.. well, I don't know... Go be a FRENZIED BERZERKER or HULKING HURLER, they seem popular enough.... Assuming you roll a couple 16's and an 18, here is what your attack and damage with just a MW spiked chain should be. Silvanesti Elf increases dex to 20 and int to 18, reducing con and cha. +11 attack [ 15 if making an AoO, +13 if you hit the guy with an AoO Last turn, and +17 if making an AoO against a guy you hit last turn with one] 2d4+8 damage [ +10 if you hit him or are hitting him with an AoO]. And in an ideal situation, he'll get somewhere around 6 attacks a round, but he'll likely only get 2 or 3, but at that attack and damage rate, he'll make quick work of most. (PS. for even more finesse fighter havoc, make a dual wielding Silvanesti Elven Swashbuckler/Fighter/ Champion of Corellon Larantheon (maybe with a level in Exotic Weap MAster to get some TWo weap Fighting fun from the Thinblade/ lightblade combo. we're talking 4 attacks with good hit rates +15 at 9th level all doing between 1d8+13 and 1d6+11) All of these builds assume no magic, if magic is available, their power goes up immensly. Enjoy. |

Help me get broken by 6th level and we're solid. I need maximum feats. But not at the expense of damage. I've got a build that fits your criteria. And its scary to boot! A Charisma Combatant. Human ... Fighter 2 / Barbarian 2 / Marshal 1 Hum = Dreadful Wrath Ftr = Power Attack Ftr = Imp. Bull Rush Barb = Rage Barb = Imp. Trip Mar = CHA-to-Trip/Bull Rush Aura Level 1 = EWP: Ritiik (Frostburn book) Level 3 = Extra Rage ---- You can rage 3/day. You are a battlefield control expert. Your Ritiik fulfills your critieria of "nothing at the expense of damage", since it simultaneously damages and gives you tripping opportunities, unlike other trip-friendly weapons. The CHA component helps your Dreadful Wrath and Marshal Aura(s). And sets you up for things like a 2 level dip in Hexblade or a dip into Cleric or Blackguard (for Divine Might and/or CHA-friendly Domain action). Or even you taking Intimidating Rage down the road for some panick setups with Dreadful Wrath. Obviously, this build also sets you up for the obvious power-play of Combat Brute and Shock Trooper. Two of the best and most versatile martial feats on the planet! Last ... be sure to max out your Intimidate skill! :behold: |
| Helmed Horror07-01-05, 05:28 PM | snow, I must say, nice use of the ritiik, but you have forgotten 1 thing; you need combat expertise for imp. trip correct? |
| SigmaJargon07-01-05, 05:38 PM | She would probably be using the Wolf Totem Barbarian. Best to mention that sort of thing when it is used, though. |
| Kurama Youko07-01-05, 05:41 PM | I'd take Daunting Presence of Dreadful Wrath |
| Snow Savant07-01-05, 05:55 PM | Correct, Wolf Totem Barbarian. I implied that in my feat list selection under Barb-2. But I should have made that more crystal clear. :embarrass |
| Rashomon07-01-05, 07:56 PM | Snow, how do you retrieve the Ritiik from your victim's flesh after poking him with it? It takes a full round action for the creature itself to remove it fro mits flesh, with both hands... |
