| Mystic Ninja12-06-05, 09:15 PM | I'm going to be in a 5th level once off, and would like to play as a goblin [normal / blue / other - Neither have LA]. As its a once off and the DM has allowed "moderate to high cheese" does anyone have any suggestions where to take him? Literally anything short of a Master of Many Forms goblin Pun-Pun is allowed. I have almost all the 3rd and 3.5 ed books, and only magic of incarnum isn't allowed [as no one in our group has it]. I'd prefer a warrior goblin, but a psion or wizard would be acceptible if it leads to real ultimate power. I considered heading into Fiend of Possession but at 5th I can't animate objects or anything. I also considered a wild talenting, up the wallsing, battle jumping, monkey gripping, spear weilding death machine. But I know most of you fine fellas are better then I. |

| Mystic Ninja12-06-05, 09:34 PM | I'm actually open to any / all suggestions. But the problem is that the game is 5th level once off. Single session. All my builds come into their own at 6th it seems. Although I do like the idea of a goblin swashbuckler, something I hadn't considered. |
| AramilWindwalker12-06-05, 09:45 PM | ohh it's only one session, I see... that makes it harder, since you need to optimize without PrCs I still think that a goblin swashbuckler/fighter or maybe rogue would still be good, as oyu can have a good chance of hitting and decent damage(assuming an at least ok int), plus some acrobatic skills for when they are needed. I should try this build next time I play the fighter....(but I'm usually too busy being the cleric or druid who mauls everything, and can heal, or the psychotic goblin wiz/druid/arcane heirophant/mytic theurge who blows things up good) |
| neilthrun12-06-05, 10:33 PM | Heres an idea. A Goblin Survivor, based around not dieing. Stat order, Con, Dex, Str, Wis, Int, Cha. Not overly powerfull, but it would be fun to play for a one shot game. Hexblade1-Toughness or Iron Will. Fighter1-Improved Toughness Ninja1-Second Wind(Mini Handbook) Survivor1- Survivor2- |
| nittanytbone12-07-05, 10:31 AM | I like Spring Attacking, Tripping goblins. It is just so obnoxious, you can't help but think of it as the paragon of Goblin Fighting. Level 1: Rogue 1 (Combat Expertise) Level 2: Fighter 1 (Improved Trip) Level 3: Fighter 2 (Dodge, Mobility) Level 4: Fighter 3 Level 5: Fighter 4 (Spring Attack) That build would let you be the trapfinder too. |
| Mystic Ninja12-07-05, 09:23 PM | I Had a thought, along those lines, of perhaps Barbarian / Monk with TWF and Snow Tiger Berserker / Imp Trip / Knockdown. - Just leap from person to person flurry tripping and being generally obnoxious. |
