5th level tripper help... [Archive] - Wizards Community

11-15-04, 04:22 AM what would be a good race for a 5th level tripper...pretty much anything WOTC is allowed and also what feat/class combo should i take..... a +2 ECL adjustment is allowed....i didnt know if the half-giant would be a better tripper thats why im askin....Thank you very much in advance

11-15-04, 04:39 AM For LA+2, Half-minotaur Half-giants (or Goliath) are pretty decent trippers.

I mean, Str +14, Con +6, Dex-4, Int-2 OR Str +16, Con +6, Dex-4, Int-2 is a bit rough for getting Expertise and AoOs, but just invest heavily in Dex and Int. The 10' reach and huge size for tripping is pretty nice. There are some other benefits too.

11-15-04, 04:46 PM Half Giants (and Goliaths, I think) are both treated as one size larger than normal when dealing with opposed checks like trips and bull rushes. That's why they're good. Minotaur compounds this.

Important classes include Fighter or PsyWar for feats, Barbarian for extra strength boost (and access to both free Imp. Trip with Unearthed Arcana Wolf Totem, and Trip bonus with Unapproachable East Wolf Berserker), and Exotic Weapon Master for an additional trip bonus.
