I made this nice Academy Sorcerer build, but the massive amount of metamagic feats to chose from made me confused.

Warmage 5/ Academy Sorcerer 10/ Elemental Savant 5

Level Fort Ref Will Class Feats
1 +0 +0 +2 Warmage 1 Energy substitution (???*), metamagic feat
2 +0 +0 +3 Warmage 2
3 +1 +1 +3 Warmage 3 Metamagic feat
4 +1 +1 +4 Warmage 4
5 +1 +1 +4 Warmage 5
6 +1 +1 +6 Academy Sorcerer 1 Spell focus (evocation)
7 +1 +1 +8 Elemental Savant 1
8 +1 +1 +9 Academy Sorcerer 2
9 +2 +2 +9 Academy Sorcerer 3 Greater spell focus (evocation), metamagic feat
10 +2 +2 +10 Academy Sorcerer 4
11 +2 +2 +10 Academy Sorcerer 5
12 +3 +3 +11 Academy Sorcerer 6 Spell penetration, metamagic feat
13 +3 +3 +11 Academy Sorcerer 7
14 +3 +3 +12 Academy Sorcerer 8
15 +4 +4 +12 Academy Sorcerer 9 Greater spell penetration, metamagic feat
16 +4 +4 +13 Academy Sorcerer 10
17 +4 +4 +14 Elemental Savant 2
18 +5 +5 +14 Elemental Savant 3 Metamagic feat
19 +5 +5 +15 Elemental Savant 4
20 +5 +5 +15 Elemental Savant 5

Offensive Abilities:
Elemental specialty (???*)
Warmage edge
Advanced learning
+8 save bonus against ???* spells
+2 DC on evocation spells
+5 DC on all ???* descriptor spells (+7 on evocation ???* spells) :evillaugh
+4 on spell penetration checks (+10 with ???* spells) :evillaugh

*(??? be the element I haven't chosen.)

Here is where I need a little advice.
A: What element is best fire, cold, acid or electricity??? (Build doesn't support sonic)
B: I have 6 Metamagic feats for this fella, what to chose?
I thought:
1: Enlarge
2: Explosive
3: Twin
4: Lord of utter cold (if cold), born of three thunders (if electricity)
5: Maximize
6: Widen

C: Advanced learning from the Warmage should be which spell?
D: Any suggestions in general?

Hope you have some ideas. :D

COLD

with Frost Mage(has Piercing Cold) from Frostburn

or just take Piercing Cold(feat)

OMFG! Piercing cold is so good I almost kicked Catharz's mom in the face. ;)

So:
1: Piercing Cold
2: Lord of utter cold
3: Explosive
4: Twin
5: Widen
6: Enlarge

How does this look?

Also would Cold Focus and Greater Cold Focus (Which stacks with Spell Focus) be a better trade than Spell Penetration And Greater Spell Penetration. I mean, me Spell Penetration with Cold spells is +6 without those two feats...

Spell Penetration (Cold spells) +6
Cold DC +9
Or
Spell Penetration (Cold spells) +10
Cold DC +7

Spell Penetration (Cold spells) +6
Cold DC +9

Better.

So:
1: Piercing Cold
2: Lord of utter cold
3: Explosive
4: Twin
5: Widen
6: Enlarge

Lord of utter cold -> take fell drain(LB) first
Explosive -> Lord of utter cold or fell weaken(LB)
Enlarge -> not to good (3 cone spells on the list ???)

Sculpt spell is also good.

So something like:
1: Piercing cold
2: Explosive
3. Fell Weaken
4: Lord of utter cold
5: Sculpt
6: Twin

So with a ninth level spell i could make a Explosive(+2), Sculpted(+1), Twinned(+3), Fell(+1), Scorching Ray(+2) of Utter Cold(+0) dealing 24d6+12(warmage edge) points of damage in a blast shape, half of which is negative energy and it weakens foes and blows them to the edge of the emanation.

Incase of opponents with Cold resistance I simple switch out Sculpt for Piercing Cold. Its very nice.

(I would have loved to fit in 5 levels of Dragonlance Age of Mortal Warmage, that would have made the damage 24d6+72.)

I don't really think Explosive Spell is worth spending a feat on, even with this many available. Others to consider:
1. Enervate Spell
2. Fell Drain
3. Chain Spell
4. Split Ray

Or maybe a Sudden metamagic.

Explosive spell was mostly for flavor.

Ofcourse without it I would have room for Elemental Bloodline and could add +1 damage per die, or fell drain. The possibilities are endless.

I thank you for your time and suggestions, it has been very helpful.
