Okay... here are my stats for a 7th Level single class NON prestige Wizard. I can choose feats from PHB 3.5... Forgotten Realms... Tomb and Blood... am I on the right track with this? I've chosen a Human Wizard.

I cant find a "Single Class Wizard Build" if someone has a link..I would check that out also... TONS of stuff on Monks.. but that diesnt help me obviously...<g>

18 INT
16 CON
14 WIS
12 DEX
10 STR
10 CHR

1st Spellcaster Prodigy
1st Combat Casting
3rd Improved Init
5th Spell Focus (Evoc)
6th Greater Spell Focus (Evoc)

I need him as a STRONG offensive type... thanks for anyones help or even an ENTIRE redo..

If you want to be good at blowing things up, I'd replace combat casting with a metamagic feat (Empower would be my first choice), and Greater Spell Focus with Energy Substitution: Sonic.

However, I'm not convinced that blaster mages are actually the most "powerful" type of wizard. I prefer using trickery, battlefield control, and the like. The advantage to being a wizard is versatility. You have access to a huge number of spells, and can keep alot of them on scrolls in case you need them. If you just want to lob powerful evocation after powerful evocation, play a sorcerer.

Hhhmmm thanks for the info. I will look over the Feats you mentioned. Eventually when I'm higher level I want to create some magic items so I'm pretty stuck on Wizard... thanks again

I like wizards more than sorcerers myself actually, and if you plan on taking item crafting feats, then yeah, wizard's probably the way to go. I just got the impression from your original post that you wanted a build that excelled at dealing out mass destruction and didn't care about much else (which sorcerer is probably better at). Maybe that was a bit presumptive of me.

Personally, I don't think Spell Focus or Greater Spell Focus are really worth it in 3.5, especially not in Evocation. With most evocation effects, they are still going to take some damage even if they save. If I were taking SF and GSF, I'd put it into something that usually means death if they fail the save on it, like Enchantment (Hold Person, etc), Necromancy (Finger of Death, etc), or Transmutation (Baleful Polymorph, etc). Unless you don't trust your DM not to fudge rolls to save his beloved NPCs on save or die effects.

Also, I just want to ask: why do you specifically say no PrCs? Is that a DM requirement or just something that you want to avoid?

Oh, and I'd probably swap your Wis and Dex scores. You're going to have good Will saves anyway, but AC will be a problem, at least in the lower levels.

I've never saw much of a need for combat casting, and if you're in 3.5 dump all spell focus feats. I think it may apply here but if you really want to boost your spell DC's take ability focus spells. With 4th level spells in your repretoire currently, there won't be too many save or die situations right away, and I agree with Phaedrus that control spells are more effective, especially at lower levels. If you find yourself in the frey often take still spell, if not silent spell is always an excellent choice (no need to worry about those annoying silence spells). If you want to be making items take the craft wondrous item feat now, so that when taking more effective feats later (chain spell, quicken spell, maximize spell) you won't have to wait.
