8th level 1/2 Orc Shield Fighter where to go from here? [Archive] - Wizards Community

12-18-06, 10:47 PM In our campaign we have the following rules: any Wotc books allowed including Dragon mags and we also get a Regional feat for free at 1st level. We can also take traits that don't count as feats and can take 2 flaws for feats from Unearthed Arcana or Dragon Mags.

Its a high powered campaign and stat rolls are with a 4d6 reroll all 1's & 2's. We can also take templates with up to a +1 level adjustment. I want to stay away from any +1 templates.

I did find a Wild Template out of a Dragon to use that gives me +2 Str, -2 Wis & -2 Cha.

Stats for my 1/2 Orc 8th level Fighter are Str 24 (+2 race, +2 template and +2 from level boosts) Con 17, Dex 16, Wis 14, Int 13, Cha 5

1st Improved Shield Bash, Shield Specialization (heavy),Agile Shield Fighter, and Two Weapon Fighting
2nd Weapon Focus Spiked Shield
3rd Shield Charge
4th Combat Expertise
5th nothing
6th Shield Slam, Improved Trip
7th nothing
8th Two Weapon Pounce

Now I plan on charging using 2 attacks thanks to 2 weapon pounce, using my Spiked shield & Longsword. With Shield Slam I can make the target roll a Fort save of DC21 or be dazed on that charge along with making a free trip attempt too.

So charge in, attack with longsword, Spiked Shield (slam), free Trip and if I am successful a free attack with the Improved Trip feat.

With my starting cash I plan on picking up some Mithral armor and a magic Spined Shield of Bashing or something.

Is there any other feats besides the shield throwing stuff that would be great for this build? Hope to grab Robilars Gambit and maybe Double Hit from the Minatures book as well later on.

12-19-06, 06:03 AM Shield Ward (PHB2) is nice. Since your Touch AC is likely to be a bit of a weak point.

I originally read that feat wrong and thought it only applied to disarm, trip etc... attempts.

12-20-06, 12:34 AM just wondering if I should stick with fighter for the extra feats with this guy or go Warblade/Swordsage stuff?

Kinda want the charging bashing with shield and weapon stuff though. So Martial Adept stuff would be better if for some reason I can't go bashing/tripping.

I should get Weapon Focus, Weap.Specialization and Weapon Mastery at least.
