Specialize in Transmutation, forsaking Enchantment and either Necromancy or Evocation. Take Iron Will, and take a Metamagic feat as your bonus feat. Levels 6&7- Incantatrix. Specialize again in Abjuration, forsaking Conjuration and either Illusion or whichever school you didn't ditch at 1st level. You now have two extra spells at each level. Take Spell Focus Conjuration. Level 8- Nar Demonbinder. Levels 9 to 14- Incantatrix, putting your effective casting increases towards your Nar Demonbinder casting. At 14th level, you'll have Improved Metamagic, 3 bonus Metamagic Feats, and 8th level spells. Levels 15 to 20- Eldritch Master. Not that interesting at first, but at 3rd level, you gain Spell Boost: 1 spell per day and 1 spell known at the next highest level of spells beyond what you can already cast, which in this case is 9th. At 4th level, you can add another class's spell list to your spell list, allowing you to choose those spells as your spells known. Pick Cleric (if you want to cast Mass Heal and Implosion) or Wizard (if you want Shapechange and Time Stop and the ability to scribe any scrolls you find into your Wizard Spellbook and use Scribe Scroll to make tons of scrolls that you can use without penalty because they are of spells on your spell list of a level you can cast). Finally, at 6th level, you gain Spell Boost again, gaining a 10th level spell per day and spell known at pre-epic. Thoughts? |

The main problem you face is a very limited number of spells per day, and number of high-level spells known. There are various PrCs to counter this, but the ones I know of involve being Githyanki or loosing your balls. I think the best way to deal is with domains and the Bloodline of evil feat. Another decent option is leveling Eldritch master to qualify for Nar demonbinder (Wiz 5/EM 4), so you can select spells known from the other list immediately. Of course, this delays your progression and the EM extra spells known are wasted. Cleric 5 is also a decent prefix. |

Problem is your saying to Dump Conjuration and then say take Spell Focus Conjuration, that may be a problem ;) |

| rich293902-13-04, 09:58 PM | I just looked up Eldritch Master in that issue... I don't see what the draw is. It never says that you continue sorcerer casting progression... I would think that the ability to cast 9th level spells outweighs having a ton of low level spells known, right? |

Look at it from the perspective of a Nar demonbinder (that is what the thread is about). Look at it from the perspective of any character who's spellcasting just topped out. Look at it from the perspective of a 17th level Wizard! Look at it from the perspective of an 11th level wizard! Look at it from the perspective of any spontaniously spellcasting class that automatically knows all spells on it's class list! Look at it from the perspective of a multiclassed Sorceror who just went epic without being 'epic-ready.' The list goes on... |
