| JMD99908-19-06, 08:58 AM | I would like you guys to point out any flaws you see in my build (if there are any) and help me make this thing work. The build is as follows: Illumian w/ UurKrau sigils 1-Bard-fascinate, countersong, inspire courage +1 (UA)-Able Learner,Murky-Eyed Flaw, Spell Focus Evil 2- Bard 3-Bard-inspire heroics-Iron WIll 4-Bard 5-Bard 6-Bard-suggestion-Lyric Spell 7-Mindbender-telepathy 8-Ur Priest 9-Ur Priest- rebuke undead- Extra Music 10-Bard 11-Sublime Chord 12-Sublime Chord-song of arcane power-Feat 13-Mystic Theurge 14-Mystic Theurge 15-Mystic Theurge-Feat 16-Mystic Theurge 17-Mystic Theurge 18-Mystic Theurge-Feat 19-Mystic Theurge 20-Mystic Theurge UurKrau sigils let me increase my caster level by 2. I will have an arcane CL of 20, and a divine of 20. Any other builds are helpful. |
| FriendlyFrog08-19-06, 01:20 PM | I believe UurKrau only lets you use Dex for bonus spells, not DC's and access to spell levels. And you have none of the feats Ur-priest requires. You might also want to go Savage bard 8/Ur-priest 2/Sublime chord 2/Mystic theurge 8, as you get full Ur-priest casting anyway, there is nothing to apply those two last levels of divine casting progression. And Song of arcane power kicks ass. |
| JMD99908-19-06, 02:41 PM | whoah,.....not thinking...will edit...thanks for the idea |
| Caelic08-19-06, 09:02 PM | Another way to go would be Savage Bard 7/Mindbender 1/Ur-Priest 2/Sublime Chord 2/MyTh8. The default Ur-Singer Build is Bard 6/Mindbender 1/XXX 1/Ur-Priest 2/SubCh2/MyTh8. XXX can be pretty much anything you want; I'm farting around with the following to see if they can work well: Bard 6/Mindbender 1/Druid 1/Ur-Priest 2/SubCh2/Foc. Lyr.8. Feats are the big problem in this build, as you need Open Least Chakra and Shape Soulmeld (Impulse Boots) in addition to the Ur-Priest requirements. Bard 6/Mindbender 1/Druid 1/Ur-Priest 2/SubCh2/Arcane Hierophant 8. You lose your Druid casting, but Arcane Hierophant is a better all-around class than Mystic Theurge. |

You lose your Druid casting, but Arcane Hierophant is a better all-around class than Mystic Theurge. You would have to be a Bamboo spirit folk for this build, as Arcane hierophant requires Trackless step, which you can't get before Druid 3. And that one level of Druid doesn't even give anything to the build. |
| kabof08-20-06, 09:26 AM | And that one level of Druid doesn't even give anything to the build. Wild Shape, maybe? |
| JMD99908-20-06, 10:06 AM | i think i may have found a better way to do this build, with more spells an illumian with krau sigils and -Sorc-5/MindBender-1/Savage bard-2/Ur Priest-2/Sublime ChordC-2/Mystic Theurge-8 and how do you figure a 1st level druid gets wild shape? am I missing something? |
| colm_l08-20-06, 10:13 AM | and how do you figure a 1st level druid gets wild shape? am I missing something? Yep. AH gives Wildshape |
| Mystic Mouse08-20-06, 12:17 PM | I was Tinkering around with: Druid 3 / Wizard 3 / Arcane Heirophant 10 / Mystic Thurge 4 (not necessarily in that order) Just to keep it simple. |
| Aahz08-20-06, 12:54 PM | You've got three levels of Wizard to qualify for the 2nd level arcane spell requirment in Arcane Heirophant. If you took Wizard as your 1st level and took Precocious Apprentice feat from Complete Arcane wouldn't that allow you to take just one level of Wizard period? Aahz. |
| JMD99908-20-06, 01:46 PM | the point is to get to 9th level spells in arcane and divine, so 1st level wizard with precocious apprentice wouldnt do the trick. |
| Aahz08-20-06, 02:17 PM | Why not? It just satisfys the Arcane requirment earlier, you still have to make the ranks in skills before you can take the prestige class. Ultimatly I just figured it would allow you to do something else with the two levels you would otherwise spend getting 2nd level Arcane casting ability. Still, looking around the forum some more it seems using feats such as this to make prestige class requirments are up to the DM anyhow. I hadn't seen that before I posted. Aahz. |
| Caelic08-20-06, 09:31 PM | Sorry; should've mentioned that the build is restricted to Bamboo Spirit Folk. Mea culpa. The level of Druid is indeed there to give Wildshape--which may or may not work, depending on your DM's interpretation of Arcane Hierophant. YMMV. Aahz, The problems with Precocious Apprentice are twofold: 1. Read literally, it doesn't work as a means of entering a dual-advancement class. As soon as you get level 2 divine spells, you lose the arcane spell slot granted by Precocious Apprentice. 2. The point I think people were trying to make is that if you use those two levels on something rather than advancing your arcane spellcasting, you won't make it to level 9 arcane spells by the end of the build. |
