| Evolis08-09-06, 01:09 AM | I'm looking a 9th lvl cleric build based around melee combat and surviability. I'm allowed to use these books. Players Handbook, Dungeon Masters Guide, Monster Manual, Players Guide to Faerun, Spell Compendium, Players Hand Book II, Complete Warrior, Complete Arcane, Complete Adventurer, Complete Divine, Races of the Wild, Races of Stone, Sandstorm, Libris Mortis, Races of the Dragon, Monster Manual III. I do plan to include Divine Metamagic cheese so that will likely take up a good portion of my feats I'm just looking for other alternatives to set this character up. an another idea was to be a cleric of Mystra and go with the antimagic field cheese but I don't really have a way to cast antimagic field so if anyone has any ideas there I would apprecate them. I have 40,000 gp to spend and can't have any none standard items other than scrolls, wands, and potions and the caster lvl on these can't be above 11th. This character is for a tournment at Dragon Con in atlanta. I have the basic idea for the character but I'm hopeing someone that knows a little more might be able to give me some more alternatives or perhaps answer one of two of the questions I've asked. Please post what books classes, feats ect come from when you post them. Edit: I also can't have any psionic stuff. |

I think characters with lots of versatility like Chameleons and Bards, or characters with really good means of evasion like Shadowdancers or Ninjas are more apt to survive. |
| Evolis08-09-06, 09:27 AM | I've played 2years in a row now. I'm aware of the basic traps but with a melee based cleric I can handle my self in combat I should have available Corpses to be animated and Persistant spell cheesiness I can come up with a decent build I'm just looking for alternate classes/feats and such just curious if anyone had any ideas I hadn't considered. Another thought was doing another halfling rogue as I did last year but I'd like something new. I made it 11 rounds last year I think the best made it 14 rounds so I don't feel to bad ^^ Not to mention if I had to guess many of classes you named will die to things such as >.> Symbols of death ect |
| PhoenixInferno08-09-06, 12:39 PM | I might try a Master of Shrouds (Libris Mortis). |
| Evolis08-09-06, 01:20 PM | what book is that in? I've heard a bit about it. I'd like to read up on it. |
| PhaedrusXY08-09-06, 02:43 PM | what book is that in? I've heard a bit about it. I'd like to read up on it.It is in Libris Mortis. There is a thread on the first page of these boards discussing the best way to build one. I agree that it would be a strong choice. I'd also take a look at the Meld into Stone cleric spell. You could summon your incorporeal undead while underground... |
| Evolis08-10-06, 08:18 AM | hmm good point I hadn't considered that. I'm still big on the cleric idea though I'm going to look into what all I can manage with master of shourds. |
