9th level Powers\Arcane Spells in 20 levels? [Archive] - Wizards Community

06-14-05, 11:45 PM Well, it may be possible with a mixture of Psion and Bard/Sublime Chord. The Psion is the fastest way to 20th level Manifestations while the Bard/Sublime Chord is the only way to get a PrC that grants 9th level spells. Some hefty usage of Cerebremancer would be needed but, I don't know how it would be possible to achieve both with the strict requirements of the Sublime Chord.

At the moment I don't think so. In order for this to be possible you would need one of three options, unless I'm mistaken.

1) An arcane PrC that advances to spellcasting with a pattern like the Ur Priest's (the Sublime Chord wont help you here).

2) A psionic PrC that advances manifesting in a manner similar to the Ur Priest's divine casting.

3) Another PrC that advances manifesting and arcane casting other than the Cerebremancer.

Right now I think the best trick you can pull off is goin Wizard 1/Psion 9/Cerebremancer 10 by using the Precocious Apprentice feat from Complete Arcane. If there is another PrC out there that advances manifesting and arcane casting, this trick could get you exactly what you are looking for while only sacrificing one level of manifesting and 3 levels of arcane casting.

Gives alternating caster advancement arc/psi for the first 4 levels, then both for the last 6. But its not enough sadly.

06-15-05, 01:49 AM That gets me to a 9th level Powers and 8th level spells using Precocious Apprentice.

I'm taking a brief vacation from DMing and one of my players is going to do a one off of a 3.5 conversion of the Return to the Tomb of Horrors. I'm thinking of using a Erudite for the manifester side of things and looking up Mind Mage, Summon Monster IX with Dual Plane Summons, Boost Construct and Augment Summoning would be nice if I could find a way to hit that 17th wizard caster level.
