| phantasy_guy08-02-04, 04:59 PM | ok i've got a 9th level sundered dwarf ranger. Sundered dwarf is from some 2nd ed book my dm has. They get +2 str and -2 cha and they are afraid of going underground. anyways my stat line is as follows, numbers in () are item boosted: STR : 20 (22) DEX : 16 (18) CON: 16 INT : 11 WIS : 14 CHA : 10 I dual wield 2 Dwarven Waraxes. 1 is +4 Ghost touch (got it from a deck of many things) and the other is just +2. I would like to know what class levels to take from here for a better progression. Any/all suggestions will be hlpful but please keep in mind that his favored class is still fighter so that is the only other base class i can take. thanks Joe |

| SolitudeSeraph08-02-04, 05:47 PM | If you've taken ranger to level 9 you might as well goto level 11 for another favored enemy and combat mastery.. |
| phantasy_guy08-02-04, 08:07 PM | Well i don't like the progression past 9th, aka i woulda stopped earlier but i wanted evasion. I have combat reflexes, weapon focus Dwarven waraxe, alertness, and Improved critical Dwarven waraxe. total bonuses to skill will be in () 5 ranks climb (11), 7 ranks craft armor smithing (7), 8 ranks weapon smithing (8), 3 ranks heal (5), 3 ranks hide (7), 12 ranks knowledge nature (12), 12 ranks listen (16), 3 ranks move silently (7), 3 ranks search (3), 12 ranks spot (16), 12 ranks survival (14). i wanna become more of a combat monster with my 2 waraxes. the other items i have are normal shortbow, ring of sustenance, belt of ogre strength +2 (i know this should be gauntlets but my dm doesn't have a problem since i'll probably upgrade it later), gloves of dex +2, +3 mithril chain shirt, a +1 animated large steel shield, and a ring of protection +1. everything else is loot/mundane items/and well i have enough blue dragon scales to make 2 large shields or 2 hide armors **evil grin**. but yeah more of a progression into 2 weapon fighting or if i should just go fighter. also i'm not opposed to just taking a class that'll offer more damage. But i'm going to stay with my waraxes, espeially since me and an npc dwarven fighter in the party ( i hate npcs but my DM loves them) are currently argueing over who should get the +2 holy keen and something else (total +6) dwarven waraxe. I think it might come to blow in game hehe. thanks Joe |

| Blade271808-04-04, 12:40 AM | Flurry of Strikes from Exotic Weapon Master stacks w/ TWF (pretty sure), so take a look at that. |
| Merbeast08-04-04, 08:12 AM | I second the vote to hang in Ranger until 11th to pick up Combat Style Mastery, another favored enemy, and a few more spells. After all, if you don't go Ranger 11, you'll have to increase your DEX and burn a feat on Greater Two Weapon Fighting. Do your Sundered Dwarves have fighter as a favored class? Since you are so stuck on your war axes, weapon specialization with fighter is a good way to burn 4 more levels, making you a Ranger11/fighter4. Cap off the build with 5 levels of Dark Hunter, Occult Slayer or Horizon walker, and you have a winner. [edited to remove evidence of my stoopidity] |
| phantasy_guy08-04-04, 04:48 PM | where is dark hunter located, i've heard of the rest of those PRCs btw thanks for the opinions, and yes as far as i know, which doesn't count for much lol, fighter is their favored class, if not the dm needs to tell of this Joe |
| Vapor IX08-04-04, 04:51 PM | Dark Hunter is from Complete Warrior. |
