| Khazra Reborn11-23-05, 11:32 AM | I was considering making a bard for an upcoming & having alway played melee bards/SC gishes previously, i am looking for something a bit new. This led me into wondering if the bard can make an effective archer? So far ive came up with the following and its just a shaky base: magic blooded human bard 20 (original, no? ;) ) Feats(not posessed by every archer under the sun): words of creation, song of the heart. Items: bow of song from CV Basicly my idea is to buff cha through the roof, sing & shoot things so far. With a cha of 38 (thats the max i can get) i have +24 to hit & damage which seems pretty good for an archer (+14 cha,+10 inspire courage). But, is bard the way to go or should i try a more traditional approach? Is it worth taking warchanter to get BaB/abilities in exchange for spells? Anyhelp much appreciated. |

So you would be +39/+34/+29 at level 20. You could work in Peerless Archer 3. For power Shot, you Cha mod would easily allow you the freedom to trade to hit for increased damage. |

Depending on what level you're starting at, you could also go: Elven Bard18/arcane archer2 Elven Bard16/aa2/EK2 Half-elf fighter2/bard16/arcanearcher2. Bard has got a couple good area-effect spells that work well with imbue arrow. Probably worth the loss of +1 in inspire courage. All these get 6th level spells, and the latter two get +16 BAB, as well. |
