| Anime_cherry09-01-06, 01:20 AM | I am fairly new to D&D, so please bear with me... I have recently started a half-drow bard in an Eberron campaign, and am planning on going into Seeker of the Song as soon as I hit 11th level. Like most bards, I am aiming for a support role and am wondering about some recommended spells that I should take. Thank you for your time. |

You would be better served looking for that "Best Spells per level" threads they got floating around. 0 lvl -Prestidigitation- No reason I can think over NOT to have this spell. -Light -Dancing Lights -Ghost Sounds 1st -Cause Fear (great at lower levels, swap it out after you start running to monsters with more than 5 hit die) -Charm Person- as a DM, I hate players with this spell, so it goes on this list Grease Identify- only if the wizard doesn't already have it. Mind the 100 gold piece materail component Sleep- like Cause Fear, get ready to swap it out Silent Image- because any Illusion backed by a savy player is more annoying and aggravating than any number of Charm Monster Spells Tasha's Hideous Laughter- removes bad guys from the fight for a bit -Cure Light- Take some heat off the Cleric 2nd -Blindness/Deafness- Fort save, so target the arcane casters and rogues. Blind wizards can't hit what they can't see (fer the most part) -Cure Moderate- make the party healer love you Detect Thoughts -Hold Person -Invisiblity 3rd -Blink -Confusion -Haste -Geas, Lesser- very annoying -Slow -Cure spells 4th -Freedom of movement -Hold MOnster -Cure Serious -Halluciatory Terrian And that's just what I like to see in games. Hope it helps |

True, monsters and NPCs can level up, getting better HD and Will saving throws, but what about their mounts? Oh yeah baby:D. When you have a limited spell list/limited spell levels/few high-level spell slots, you have to think of ways to use your low-level spells to do the same as the high-levels, especially since it's easier to get better low-level spell slots than high-level ones. This is just an example, because I am really busy right now, but just take a look at each spell's description and try to do more things with fewer spells. |
