A boxer like Willie Pep. Need help with build. [Archive] - Wizards Community

01-22-07, 09:56 AM Pep was likened to a tap dancer in boxing gloves. He was fast, he was agile, he was graceful. A Pep fight resembled a ballroom dance with one partner a masterful Fred Astaire and the other apparently lacking a single dance lesson.

Willie was just in the mood to show them something they'd never seen before. Whatever his motivation,prior to the start of the bout, Pep would make a prediction to rival any later made by Muhammed Ali; he would win a round without throwing a single punch. Which he did by the score of all three Judge's cards.

I'm a decent fan of boxing and after reading about some of the old day's I thought this would make if nothing else a fun character. So on to the build.

Human Monk (and some other classes I am guessing)
Str 15
Dex 16
Con 15
Int 14
Wis 16
Cha 14 (rolled pretty decent I think...)

I wanted to ask the advice of the fine people on this board before I went to far into the build. So far I have a basic idea of what he will do in combat. They are a few non core feats but generally balanced with our DM.

Expertise - Only requirement for the following 3. Other then dex 15 and wis 13
Parry - You can negate one attack/turn by beating his attack roll with yours
Riposte - One free melee attack after a parry
Continous Parry - Total defense action allows you to parry every attack against you. Though you can only Riposte a number equal to your attacks during a full attack action.

I figure with a couple of flaws, human, and my DM has allowed me to take expertise as my monk feat at 1st lvl. (He doesn't like the bonus feats lists. As long as it's something pertaining to your character build...)

The general idea for the entire build is AC. I would like this man to be untouchable in a fight. Though I would like to stay away from buffs granted by magic items and such...DM is too good for us to use them correctly. I will be working on this build for pretty much the entire day. So any input or builds you may already have for this would be very appreciated.

01-22-07, 12:43 PM Check out Master Po in my sig. Robilar's Gambit does alot of what you're trying to accomplish with those homebrewed feats, also. It is in PHB2, I think.

PhaedrusXY - Nice signature man. Alot of very useful things in there for me. I do like parts of Master Po. Thanx man.
