I am interested in making a Chain Wielder as a character.

I was wondering if you guys could tell me what Class, Race, Stats, Feats, and skills would be the best for such a character?

It's a 3.0 Character.

Here (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=163005) is a chain wielding fighter for 3.5. Reverse engineering should be easy, since virtually nothing in the character differs for 3.0 and 3.5.

Or feel free to get a bit more specific about your needs. If you say, "Chain, give me the rest," you are going to get a lot of stuff that is nothing like what you want.

Okay.

May I ask what the following feats do/mean and where they come from?

Jotenbrud
EWP: Chain (Combat Expertise)
TWF
Karmic Strike
Side Step (Double Hit)
(Greater TWF)
Deft Opportunist
Knock-Down
(Hold The Line)

It also never explains what Race or Skills I would need for such a character...

That build is a human fighter. The feats with bracets around them like (Combat Expertise) means you take it as a fighter bonus feat. Combat Expertise is in the Player's Handbook 3.5 edition (it is also in 3.0 edition as just "Expertise"). "EWP: chain" is Exotic Weapon Proficiency with spiked chain. Jotenbrud I think is in Races of Faerun, it basically lets you be considered Large-size for things like trip and bullrush (being Large-size gives you a +4 bonus to both of those). I don't know where some of those feats are from, but Karmic Strike and Hold the Line are both in Complete Warrior and Knock-Down and Hold the Line are both in Sword and Fist. Greater TWF is Greater Two-Weapon Fighting and is in the Player's Handbook 3.5 edition and in Masters of the Wild.

Jotenbrud - Races of Faerun? - It allows you to be treated as size large for tripping and grappling (maybe a few other things too)
EWP: Chain - PHB - Exotic Weapon Proficiency in the spiked chain
(Combat Expertise) - PHB - The 3.5 name for 3.0's Expertise
TWF - PHB - Two Weapon Fighting
Karmic Strike - 3.5's Complete Warrior (I think) - Something to the effect that if an opponent strikes you in melee, you get to make an Attack of Opportunity on him.
Side Step - Don't really know, Miniature's HB maybe?
(Double Hit) - MiniHB? - I think the two of those together somehow give you one extra attack each round, but I'm not sure
(Greater TWF) - Masters of the Wild - Again, TWF is Two Weapon Fighting.
Deft Opportunist - No idea
Knock-Down - Sword and Fist - If you deal at least 10 points of damage to a foe with a single blow, you get to make a free trip attack against him.
(Hold The Line) - Sword and Fist - IIRC, You get an AoO on anyone charging into your threatened area.

Would an Elf make a good chain weilder? His Dex bonus would help, not to mention Listen, Search, and Spot bonuses would be great for the chain weilder I am making. (Sort of a guy that never likes to let his enemies get away from the fight, his favorite saying would probably be 'You can run but you can't hide!')

Or is the extra feat and skill points that a human provides essential the build?

Yeah that would probably be alright, you would just have to wait an extra level to get improved trip (tripping is the whole purpose of that build). You of course also don't HAVE to trip to use a spiked chain effectively, you could always use it just like any other fighter with a greatsword... high Strength, big attack and damage rolls, Power Attack, and try to kill everything as quickly as possible.
