A Challenge For All [Archive] - Wizards Community

11-25-05, 12:51 AM i recently read "Master of Chains" a D&D novel, and am inspired to create this challenge:

Create the BEST Spiked-Chain wielder build/stats possible with all available sources,

max level 30, templates allowed

My Lame Attempt
Male Human Fighter 20
Lawful Evil

Strength 16 (+3)
Dexterity 21 (+5)
Constitution 13 (+1)
Intelligence 15 (+2)
Wisdom 10 (+0)
Charisma 12 (+1)

Attack (handheld): +23/+18/+13/+8 = 20 [base] +3 [strength]
Weapon Finesse: +25/+20/+15/+10 = 20 [base] +5 [dexterity]
Grapple check: +23/+18/+13/+8 = 20 [base] +3 [strength]

Spiked Chain [2d4, crit x2, 10 lb., two-handed, piercing]

11-25-05, 03:15 AM *SIGH*.. You still haven't specified what you needed out of that chain spike Fighter 20...

What sort of chain fighter do you have in mind? Abusing the trip attempts? having mega damage?

Remember some people (like me) think that tripping is the way to go with a powerful chain spike build while others favor weapon finesse builds as the best. Hopefully you are familiar with the rules with tripping combatants...

Edit: Tempest Stormwind just beat me to it... although a whole lot rougher...

Specifics:

absolute tripmaster

but the stats will have to be redone by whoever build him, because i lost my copy of the original
