Of course, anyone with a PHB and ten spare minutes can figure out how to wreck a world's economy with Fabricates or salty cows. I'm interested in seeing what people can come up that's... well... bigger. For starters, what can you do with Genesis - either the spell, or the power? How quickly can you progress a character to the point where he can create a demiplane, and for gravy, what can he put in it? Can you come up with a pre-epic build that can create his own pocket universe, complete with a habitable space and sentient life (from scratch?) On a smaller scale, what cool effects can you come up with for low- or mid-level characters? Homemade floating castles? Airships? Longships made of hobgoblin corpses? If you'd like to take a stab, I will offer the following guidelines to keep things mostly on track - Wizards material only, including Dragon magazine. No infinite-loop abuse, and buckets of water are banned. Houserule: kobolds cannot use dragon age categories to acquire epic feats (kobold ascendants would trivialize the challenge.) Please stick to the wealth-by-level guidelines, avoid effects that obviously exploit loopholes in the wealth system, and stick to a rational point-buy. If you use the UA generic classes, don't mix them with the non-generic base classes. My starting contribution (to be fleshed out when I'm done writing term papers): an Artificer 12 who sinks his capital into a 1-charge staff with Genesis and Fabricate (I can't figure out how to get the spell as a non-Artificer, since it's now not on any spell lists and I don't interpret Extra Spell the way some people do) and uses action points to trigger it over and over, sloooowly building himself a demiplane and filling it with matter. This seems to be the earliest I can get a pocket universe up and running, but I'm not thinking very hard right now! |

I can't think of any classes that have advanced manifesting to the same degree that Ur-Priest or Sublime Chord have advanced spellcasting. This isn't ruinous by any means, of course. |
