| gNoLo09-13-05, 01:29 PM | Could you help me? I'm going to play a swashbuckler, and i thought to do a gish... i saw the Elf Gish, that was similar but... i want to play something of more particular.... I could do a half-elf Swashbuckler 3/Rogue 3/wizard 2/Bladesinger 9/Scarlet corsair 3 I want to use a lot the feints, whith the sneak attack The abilities are 17 16 15 14 14 11 i think that could be Str 14 Dex 16 Cos 14 Int 17 Sag 11 Car 15 Could you suggest me some feats... and if i have to change any class or PrC? Thanks. |

I always repeat this: Bladesinger sucks so much that even straight Swashbucklers and hexblades pity him. If you want a Bladesinger flavor, but with a lot more spellcasting AND melee power, take a 2-level dip into Champion of Corellon (RotW) before going Eldritch Knight. Swashbuckler 3/Wizard 4/Bladesinger 1/Eldritch Knight 10/Champion of Corellon 2 is fair enough: BAB +18, CL 14th, Dex + Int to damage. It's far from being actually good, but it's still better than a full Bladesinger. If you want a Gish that focuses more on melee and skills than spells, then I suggest dropping Swashbuckler altogether and going Suel Archanamach. That would be because SA uses Cha as relevant stat for casting spells, which would cause MAD to your character. Take Rogue 3/Fighter 4/Suel Archanamach 8/Champion of Corellon 2/Spellsword 3, for instance... you got 1st level + 10 other of skill monkey, 5 bonus feats, 10th-level SA casting, +2d6 SA, Dex to damage; Fort +13, Ref +11, Will +14; cast spells in any armor you'll ever probably want to use. Go elf instead of half-elf, and allocate your stats like that (after racial modifiers): Str 14 Dex 19 Cos 12 Int 15 Sag 11 Car 16 You know, at first glance, I really disliked Suel Archanamach... now, however, I think the PrC is the king of versatility! |
