The first concept is a variant prestige paladin with the emphasis on fighting prowess rather than spellcasting. 1.Fighter 1: Weapon Focus, True Believer, Fighter Feat 2.Fighter 2: Mounted Combat 3.Fighter 3: Ride By Attack 4.Fighter 4: Fighter Feat 5.Fighter 5 6.Pious Templar 1: Mettle, Combat Casting 7.Fighter 6: Fighter Feat 8. Divine Crusader 1: Domain, Aura 9. Warpriest 1: Glory Domain, Rally, Turn Undead, Feat 10. Prestige Paladin 1: Detect Evil, Smite Evil, Turn Undead 11. Prestige Paladin 2: Divine Grace, Lay on Hands, mount 12. Prestige Paladin 3: Aura of Courage, Divine Health, Feat 13. Hospitaler 1: Bonus feat, lay on hands 14. Hospitaler 2 15. Hospitaler 3:Remove Disease 1/week, feat 16. Hospitaler 4 17. Hospitaler 5: Bonus feat 18. Hospitaler 6: Feat 19. Hospitaler 7: Remove Disease 2/week 20: Hospitaler 8 Final BAB: +19 Final Saves: Fort: +18 Ref: +5 Will: +9 PLUSSES: Casts as a Divine Crusader 9, netting 9th level spells in two domains. Divine Grace beefs up relatively weak Reflex and Will saves, and Mettle further enhances savability. Has a total of 6 bonus fighter feats to play with. MINUSES: Only has access to two domains. Fighter feats are offset by heavy feat requirements (total net gain is only one feat.) Stat-intensive (only dump stats are Int and Dex.) So: any way to play to the strengths of the build? Sure, it's not as powerful as a carefully tweaked Clerical Prestige Paladin, but I like the idea of the Divine Crusader and wanted to do something fun with it. This is a fairly weak build as it stands, but with some polishing, I think it could have potential. |

You'd gain- more HP, More skills, higher move (if wearing Medium armour or less) and Uncanny Dodge. And, a favoured enemy such as Undead? You'd lose a feat. Does Divine Crusader really give you 9th level spells? |

I only saw the totem variant last time I looked, but I admit I haven't gone over the variant classes that thoroughly. Yes, the Reflex save does, indeed, blow mightily. I might actually sink a feat into improving it. |
