My friend wants me and another guy to both build characters and then tag team up against his newest abomination. Here's out boundaries:

1. Level 20 Gesalt, no PrC's or etc.
2. On top of the 20 levels you can have a +5 level adjustment from race/templates (IE Kobald Halfdragon or the like).
2. 20th level wealth to buy equipment.

What do I expect? The three kinds of Nasty I should be able to stand up against:

1. Superpower Grapplers (I don't want grapple, but i'd rather excape grapple, incorpreal?)
2. Shadow Dancing Death Attackers (Will saves, or undead will save me here)
3. Undead and ability drainers (this goes into 1 and 2 also)

So with that in mind I've been considering something like an Evil Monk/Cleric using an undead race with possibly a template. Something like a Undead Fiend / Half Dragon. With my wealth why not buy a few permenant spells via wish or the like? Expectedly do broken cleric things with my Charisma to promote my ungodly high saves to prevent any effects from killing me. Being Undead I will be immune to most mind effects and death attacks. Being a monk I can pump the excape artist to evade some grapple. Also I think my not be large size via wish? being Large and then adding some cleric buffs would let me do disasterous things.

How about spells storing gloves for flurry attacks? etc etc. Any book but the minatures guide can be used here. Give it to me. I need to have something ready by Saturday and unfortunatly I have no books with me as they are all at his house. Do it big!

Thanks

no PrCs? that kinda hurts. go with the ghost sorcererXX/paladin 2 + monk XX. use some feats from libris mortis to make you harder to turn and then own the enemy.

I'll add a disclaimer, don't worry about being turned. This guy NEVER plays a character with turn undead ability. It would be the least of our problems. More than likely he will be undead himself.

The other dude beat me to it. I was gonna say ghost barb/wizard, but you already get big hitdie since you're undead, and if he's gonna play undead, then you want paladin levels. Sorc's ability score just goes along that. So bulk up your charisma and strength, just as you would any paladin, but don't play in too much armor, since you can't take a spellsword dip. If you want armor, and the BoED is in play, get some light armor with the Twilight enchantment (+1 enchantment, -10% ASF).

another thing you might want to consider, is that "his" newest abomination might be Pun-Pun, in which case you're f***ed 9 ways from saturday no matter what.

I know for a fact he'd not be playing Pun-pun because well that'd defeat the point of rolling the dice at all. He'll play something brutal to be sure but not broken. I talked to him again today and he's saying the monster/badguy he's made can deal a lot of damage in a single attack. From the conversation it sounds like a very heavy melee damage character. Obviously a Ghost defeats that plan for him as he'd be very unlikely a ghost and very unlikely carrying any anti ghost goods. Not many people expect the evilness of a ghost to whack you in the face.

Also anyone got a link to a good post about Gesalts because I need to read up what exactly the rules on them is and etc. he's now telling me I can make a 3 class gesalt up to lvl 20, and use any template/race up to a +5 level adjustment (max effective CL 25 then, but only 20 class levels).

Vow of Pverty would be really good to have as a ghost as well. should synergies quite well. remember to disjunction your enemy ASAP to disjoin any magical items that could possibly hurt you. not sure what to do with the 3 part of the gestault but honestly now were just getting rediculus. maybe more monk or even a hexblade if the alignment restrictions dont bonk you. if they do remember theres the paladin alternatives in unearthed arcana. but mettle and whatever it is that paladins have would make your saves go through the roof. a psionic character with anticapatory strike (found in races of destiny) wouldnt be bad ether in a dual. it would guarantee going first (unless he waited for you to use yours and then used the same ability.

God this is rediculus but heres my 3 class gestault ghost character.

sorcerer 20//paladin of tyrranny 2/hexblade 3/monk 15//psion 20

first turn it doesnt matter who goes first as an immediate action you manifest anticapatory strike. you now go first. manifiest affinity field. now have your psicrystal manifest anticapatory strike and then manifest synchronicty (races of desteny as well). this give both you and your psycrystal a readied action. you use yours to cast MDJ if you can see your enemy otherwise cast true seeing or something. then your psicrystal manifest synchrnicity again. you cast some damageing spell or something. psicrystal does its thing again and you do yours untill ether you run out of power points or your enemy is dead.
