| boffer10-19-06, 10:18 AM | Another of the deal lots-of-damage-on-charge types, but with such power that opponents will be sickned if the cant make a DC 40+ Fort save :p And it's probably far from its true potential, an as such I'd be gratefull if I could get any help optimize it further. Any books are allowed, and any suggestioms that doesn't recuire that I change from Fighter 20... And Dwarf... | Timespike10-19-06, 10:34 AM | Why are you set on playing a fighter 20? Be that as it may, you're going to want races of stone and the PHB II. Take all of the dwarf fighter racial substitution levels from races of stone and all of the optional class abilities from the PHB II. |
| boffer10-19-06, 10:39 AM | i would, but i want to use unarmed strikes on this one, I'm just curious how strong he can get, as it's now he can on a charge deal 2d6+1d12+str*1,5+power attack*3(which then set the dc for brutal strike)+6 damage and that is without equipment. |
| JaronK10-19-06, 11:26 AM | What's his alignment? Touch of Golden Ice (Exaulted) could be a lot of fun for a character like this. JaronK |
| boffer10-19-06, 11:28 AM | i haven't decided on his alignment, so could be any from lawful good to chaotic evil... |
| Grizzled Gryphon10-19-06, 11:40 AM | Too bad you won't take some PrC's. The tempest in particular sounds right up this chars alley. |
| boffer10-19-06, 11:46 AM | i am a tempest nay-sayer... it's simply ot worth it... but thanks for the suggestion anyway;) |
| Surreal10-19-06, 12:53 PM | If you can use a bit of 3.0, there's the Lightning Fists feat from Sword and Fist that gives you two additional attacks (but everything takes -5) |
| boffer10-19-06, 02:13 PM | If you can use a bit of 3.0, there's the Lightning Fists feat from Sword and Fist that gives you two additional attacks (but everything takes -5) this is just to see what is possible, but as hammerfist is unable to use with flurry, I don't think it's useable with lightning fists either... the reason I picked snap kick is for the ability to use it when making a single attack and a move action, but thanks for the catch:D edit: and yes, I am able to use any 3.0 material that isn't updated to 3.5. this is a character I plan o use on a high level party the next time I DM... |
| Surreal10-19-06, 03:20 PM | this is just to see what is possible, but as hammerfist is unable to use with flurry, I don't think it's useable with lightning fists either... the reason I picked snap kick is for the ability to use it when making a single attack and a move action, but thanks for the catch:D I think you're just self-imposing that restriction on yourself. There's no rule that they can't work together, and it requires a full round action to use anyways so it's not overly powerful. |
| boffer10-19-06, 03:43 PM | checked Hammerfist, and it specially mention that it's unable to be used with flurry, and that it require both hands to use... however, any monk2/Fighter4 that focus on lots of attacks should pick lightning Fist+Snap Kich+ Two-Weapon Fighting tree... |
| PhoenixInferno10-19-06, 04:11 PM | I like it, but I think Weapon Supremacy is overrated for damage-oriented builds. I would skip GWF/GWS/Weapon Supremacy so that I can move Shock Trooper up. I would also skip Flying Kick and Roundabout Kick - just not worth it. Perhaps I would work in Versatile Unarmed Strike, Melee Weapon Mastery (Slashing), and Slashing Flurry? |
| boffer10-20-06, 04:44 AM | lesse, to skip gwf, gws, weapon supremacy, flying kick and roundabout kick, would open up 5 feats... is it possible to pick melee weapon mastery for all three weapon types? and can you have both slashing flurry and crushing attack? |

| Grizzled Gryphon10-20-06, 12:21 PM | You look like your going for a high mobilty build, here. Buonding Assualt from PHBII might be a good one for ya. |
| Kamikaze Chicken10-20-06, 02:00 PM | reaping mauler comes to mind.... but i dont think ya wanted any prcs.... KAMIKAZE! :chicken: |
| PhoenixInferno10-20-06, 02:21 PM | You look like your going for a high mobilty build, here. Buonding Assualt from PHBII might be a good one for ya.Uh...how did you come to THAT conclusion? The character in question is a full-attack monster, and mobility is not a concern. |
| boffer10-22-06, 07:49 AM | Uh...how did you come to THAT conclusion? The character in question is a full-attack monster, and mobility is not a concern. I agree, as this char does not even have dodge, and is a dwarf... mobilty and dwarves don't match... |
| Grizzled Gryphon10-23-06, 01:32 AM | Uh...how did you come to THAT conclusion? The character in question is a full-attack monster, and mobility is not a concern. Hmm, that IS a good question, isn't it? For some reason, I thought Leap Kick was about movement... |
| Save-vs-DM10-23-06, 03:36 AM | Hmm, it looks as if you have access to the Tome of Battle, and I didn't see any restrictions about taking maneuvers via feats. I'd drop two feats - one on Charging Minotaur (nice bull rush/charge maneuver to open up) and one for the stance Crushing Weight of the Mountain. Nothing helps a melee grappler type better than a nice constrict ability. At very high levels Mountain Avanalanche would give you a trample attack, which fits nicely into the image of a dwarf. Plus Stone Dragon just seems to fit dwarves very well. Ya know, as a dwarf, Robilar's Gambit might make for a bit of fun and some crazy damage. With a decent Dex and combat reflexes, you could make a good dozen attacks a round with any sort of luck at all. You'll probably have a ton hit points, so taking a few hits isn't really a bad thing at all. Maybe add in Karmic Strike as well, just for added fun. Cheers, Save vs DM |
| boffer10-25-06, 11:06 AM | the reason i didn't use Martial Study for this character is that i wanted him to be as much optimized as a fighter as possible, because if I wanted manuevers I'd rather play a martial adept... and I just want to see if it's even possible for a lv 20 fighter to keep up with the new options presented in ToB... without resorting to manuevers... |
