Player's Notes
All material must be core material. Pretty much limited to the PHB and DMG for feats, items, etc.

The leveling system that the DM uses isn't the standard, by-the-book, leveling. Choose one class as a 'Primary' class and another class as a 'Secondary' class. The Secondary class' level is equal to one-half of the Primary class' level, rounded down. EXP has been sorted out so whenever you would hit a point where you would gain a level in both, you'd have to reach the experience total where you would gain both levels (For example, we're effectively at level 10 right now. To get to where I become a Fighter 8 / Cleric 4, I'd have to reach level 12's experience total)

Currently, I'm planning on being something of a tank. Eventually, I'm planning on picking up +5 Mithral Full Plate and a +5 Spiked Heavy Mithral Shield of Bashing (because I'm evil like that) for armor. I'm also thinking of bumping up my Gloves of Dexterity from +4 to +6 (bumps up my horrible reflex save, too :D ).

The Mithral Bastard Sword I'm saving for later on. I'm thinking of having it at +4 with Flaming or Icy Burst and Thundering. Yes, again, I'm evil like that, even though it's going to cost me quite a bit.

Character is rather... ballsy. Has been known to charge into battle and get whomped on pretty heavily. He's tried on rings to see what they do, and he even turned a wand on himself when he was at 3 HP (which was, luckily, that Wand of Cure Moderate Wounds currently in his inventory. He was out of spells at the time, too).

I tend to focus mostly on Cure spells (with the exception that I have Create Water and an extra Bull's Strength prepared).

With future feats, I plan on continuing with the Weapon Focus tree for the Bastard Sword. I'm also planning on picking up a couple feats to enhance what I can do with the Heavy Repeating Crossbow (Point Blank Shot, Precise Shot).

In terms of Min/Maxing, I'm really not sure where else to go. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Tell your DM that Square Enix wants their idea back.

If you were still building the character, I'd say focus on Divine Metamagic (Persistant), so you could persist cleric buffs on yourself, and kill anything that lives.

Why did you take Rapid Reload, if you use a repeating crossbow?

I honestly don't know what to tell you for this cahracter... Tanks are not my strong point.

Tell your DM that Square Enix wants their idea back.

I should do that, just for spite.

If you were still building the character, I'd say focus on Divine Metamagic (Persistant), so you could persist cleric buffs on yourself, and kill anything that lives.

Noted, however the players are stuck with core material. As much as I'd love to do fun things like that, I'm kind of bound. Extend Spell would be my closest option.

Why did you take Rapid Reload, if you use a repeating crossbow?

You have to replace the clip once you fire of the fifth bolt. Replacing the clip is normally a full round action. If I'm thinking correctly, replacing ('reloading,' for my argument) the clip with Rapid Reload would take that down to a move action. Correct me if I'm thinking incorrectly on that.

I honestly don't know what to tell you for this cahracter... Tanks are not my strong point.

If nothing else, you brought up the argument on Rapid Reload. I'm not going to complain about that.

Ew, so you're stuck with this Fighter-heavy advancement for ever. And with Core-only feats, no less. Reversing your classes probably would have been better.

Those Crossbow feats really sting. Repeating Crossbow is a poor investment to begin with. You should stick with a Mighty Longbow, especially with your strength — you would save 2 feats and do more damage besides).

(BTW, per the SRD Rapid Reload does not apply to the Repeating Crossbow. I suspect most DMs would allow it anyway, but instead of pressing your case, I'd take the opportunity to try and get out of the Crossbow path altogether and use a regular bow).

Also note that you can't use either a Bow or Crossbow with a shield (except for bucklers, and you can't bash with them, which you make your Shield-bash feat worthless).

Also, your Shield Bash is of limited use without the TWF tree (which you can't take because of your Dexterity.

If you can lose the Crossbow feats, do so and replace them with something more useful. Quick Draw is an option, letting you rely on javelins, which with your strength will STILL do more average damage then a repeating crossbow. Extend Spell would also be useful in the long-term.

Couple other questions/comments:

- So b/c of this odd multiclassing system, what happens if you were to take levels in a Prestige Class? A third core class is straight out, as you'd have XP penalties.

- You're focusing on Cure spells? How come? You should prepare mostly buffing spells (Divine Favor, Entropic Shield, etc.) and convert them to healing as needed.

A suggested spell list:

0 (4):
1 (3+1): Prot. from Evil, Divine Favor, Entropic Shield, Enlarge Person(d)
2 (2+1): Bull's Strength (d), Bear's Endurance, Align Weapon
