Hello buddies...

I need to create myself a kinda weird character for my next game. One of my friend has that stupid thinking that a PrC with *Lord* or *Master* in its name is absolute power, I need to compensate for this by doing a fighter/healer guy... Any ideas about how I could achieve this? I thought about using Divine Power with Divine Metamagic(Persistant Spell) but aside from that, blank...

Could you give me pointers?

(And yes, I wanna kill my friend for such lame thinking...)

If by master you mean Master of Many Forms... your friend was probably right =O

You could play a cleric. Fights. Heals.

Or a ranger with a wand of cure light.

How about a _________ with an obnoxious voice, the leadership feat, and a house cleric that follows him around?

"Sir Bedevere! Bring forth the scrolls of Heal! And the Wand of Cure Light Wounds! And the Spell of Remove Curse! And the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch! And my pet kitty!"

That way you can pursue any build you want and let your hired help do the healing, which also gets you more actions per round.

Talking to the guy who talked about Master o'many forms...

Nope, I meant Spymaster... and he's a bard/druid/animal lord(bear)... or something like that... I don't remember quite exactly, but from what I saw his character would have become completely useless...

Umm... that's not a weird character at all. Sounds like a typical cleric to me. What books are allowed? What stats are you using? Any odd DM-specific (or personal) restrictions on character building?

Isn't that something like being a Fighter/Rogue/Enchanter?

To put it simply, I want something with a nice BAB( maybe getting four attacks), good hit points, and nice buffing/healing spells...

Basically, I want to do the job of a fighter and the job of a cleric in one nice character... And without losing much of both classes...

I have all Complete..., BOVD, BOED and Draconomicon...

Just wanted some ideas on what feats/ class combinations/ PrCs should I take. I know a cleric fights... but I want him to fight better.

Dwarven cleric (for the +2 Con) with the Planning and Undeath domains (free Extend Spell and Extra Turning). Take Persistent Spell at 1st and Divine Metamagic: Persistent at 3rd. Then take whatever you want. I'd definitely get Power Attack in there eventually, and would suggest using a two-handed wooden weapon with Spikes or Brambles on it.

Playing a capable fighting cleric is more about feat choices and buffing yourself well than anything else. PrCs are secondary, IMO.

You could instead opt to go with Divine Metamagic: Quicken Spell (instead of Persistent), as that would let you either buff or cast healing (or other) spells in combat without losing turns.

Thanks for the advice, I really appreciate it. Also, where is the planning domain? Can't seem to find it in my books...

Thanks for the advice, I really appreciate it. Also, where is the planning domain? Can't seem to find it in my books...I wasn't sure if that was a complete list of books you could use or not. I think the current version is in the Player's Guide to Faerun. You can do without it, though. It just makes the feat progression easier.

Fighter 10/Divine Crusader 10 (from Complete Divine).

You have a Domain: just chose Healing and you're set.

Full BaB, 2 Nice Save...

Don't sweat healing. Simply make sure your character is faster than his. Eventually, he'll roll up a replacement character that's actually game-effective.

Divine Crusader doesn't give full BAB, it gives something like 3/4 BAB.

Paladin 4/Fighter 2/Ranger 3/Divine Crusader 1/Fist of Raziel 10 will give you the full casting from Divine Crusader, as well as all the Fist of Raziel abilities, +19 BAB, all the great Paladin goodies, some good stuff from Ranger (Favored Enemy of whatever race this other guy is comes to mind) and so on. I would suggest taking Practiced Spellcaster so that you eventually end up with an equivalent of 14th caster level for your Healing Domain spells. (1 level Divine Crusader, +9 from Fist of Raziel, +4 from Practiced Spellcaster). That way your healing will be pretty decent. And your +19 BAB and other abilities won't hurt either.

Fist of Raziel is the way to go. With the Divine Crusader you would be limited on your Spells Per Day (which is pretty low for that class) but, the spells you do have are all healing spells.

dude tell your friend hes being retarded. everyone knows if you want a character with absolute power you need to be a ninja. for a truely most optimized uber character with absolute power see this thread.

http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=376014

this character is so UBER I kicked my mom in the face!

for a good cleric build you could allways play a cheater of mystra. add in initiate of mystra feat and you can persist your buffs and make it much harder to debuff you. before you get antimagic field use a consumptive field (liber mortis) to boost your caster level so no one can dispell you.

Yup, the build with the Fist of Raziel seems pretty interesting... Thanks a lot, guys! I'll be creating that guy soon... ( and I'll kill my friend for all of those who understant my despair ;) )

You can just go Cleric/Fist of Raziel too. It's much better, IMO.

Five nations is on Eberron, huh? Might get my hands on a few of those books...

Anyway, what is the Bone Knight in general?

IIRC, Bone Knight was the old "Pale Master" from the 3.0 books.
