A Fire Theurge [Archive] - Wizards Community

01-29-06, 01:40 PM I showed up to our first game session yesterday and it was decided that an upcoming storyline centered on having someone arcanely inclined... and nobody was playing one. I pitched my Psion and came up with this idea in a big hurry.

Here were the guidelines:
34 Stat points
Free regional feat
4 free skill points in ride
Maximum starting money for your class.
Campaign setting: Forgotten realms, sword coast area.
Classes from most of the wizards of the coast books are available.

And here's the relevant details so far:
Arbitus
S/10 D/12 Co/14 I/16 W/16 Ch/10
Lv 1 Cleric (Kossuth)

[Lv 1] - Practiced Spellcaster Wizard
[Human] - Practiced Spellcaster Cleric
[Regional] - Bloodline of Fire - +4 Fire saves/+2 Caster Lv on Fire Spells

Domains: Fire and Destruction

So I'm looking for ideas on where to go from here. Obviously Wizard for a few levels, cleric for a few levels, and then I'm planning to jump into Theurge. Should I go specialist Wiz? What kind of Feats should I be looking at? Other than Necromancer, are there any other Arcane/Divine Spell progression PrC's I should look at?

01-29-06, 03:29 PM Aside from Theurge? There's Arcane Heirophant (Races of the Wild) which is actually focused on Druid/arcane, and Fochlucan Lyricist (Complete Adventurer) - neither of which are really suited to your character concept. If you wanted to be a Fire-themed character, why did you go with Cleric? Doesn't get a lot of flame based spells. You'd be better served by starting as a Wizard/Sorcerer and going into Elemental Savant (Complete Arcane).

01-29-06, 04:40 PM or if you want to theurge druid gets more fire spells faster than cleric, so a druid/wizard or sorc/arcane heirophant would work fine for your idea.

01-29-06, 05:18 PM Well this was thrown together at the last minute. It went something like "I need a wizard" "You should take Bloodline of Fire" "Hmmm Fire... and Kossuth... and I've always wanted to play a Mystic Theurge.... Cleric is a better Lv 1 than Wizard"

My last wizard was an Air Savant, so I agree thats pretty cool. I haven't found any good PrC's to stack on in my research today either. I may try to work out a custom PrC if something WoTC doesn't spring to hand.

In terms of feats, I'm looking at:
Empower Spell, Eschew Materials, Create Wonderous Item to start

01-29-06, 05:42 PM There were a number of fire prCs in one of the dragon mags a while ago. As for Fire I would suggest a sun priest or something like that. Try to find some access to fire in that way.
