| Snow Savant12-29-03, 02:16 PM | Rog3 / Ftr2 / SoldierofLight1 / SkullclanHunter9 / InvisibleBlade5 You are a Neutral Good human who wields dual daggers. You have a pious side to you, as is evident by your brief dalliance with the Soldiers of Light. Your time with the SoL's only furthered and heightened your dislike for the undead. Which ultimately led to you becoming a feared Skullclan Hunter... Your prefix goes something like this: Human = TWF 01-Rog1 = Education 02-Ftr1 = (Weapon Focus: Dagger) 03-Rog2 = Point Blank Shot 04-Ftr2 = (Power Attack) 05-Rog3 = 06-SoL1 = Divine Might Your remaining 14 levels can be structured or interlaced with ScH and IB levels, although you need the Far Shot feat at character level 9 before you take IB levels. Besides Far Shot, your remaining 3 levelled feats should definitely include Imp. TWF and Grtr. TWF. My 4 selection would be Weapon Finesse. The Education feat helps you access Knowledge: Religion. Which are pre-requisites for both the SoL and ScH PrC's. A high Knowledge: Religion rank gives you a tremendous ability to track undead (see ScH's "Track Undead" class ability). 17 of your 20 levels have Bluff as a class skill. Letting you take advantage of IB's crazy-good Feinting class abilities. Sadly, Power Attack becomes your "wasted" feat in this build. You needed it in order to qualify for Divine Might (since SoL grants you Turning). You could carry a backup two-hander to use it in an emergency backup situation, but STR is a stat that becomes very unimportant in this build. You need a high DEX, CHA, & CON. INT, WIS, & STR are much less crucial in this build. Ultimately, you get: BAB +16. +8d6 SA ... and ... Divine Might Damage add-ons. Maxed-out skill ranks in important stealth/scout skills. Maxed-out Knowledge: Religion and Bluff skills (see above). All the Invisible Blade goodies. All the Skullclan Hunter goodies (except for 1 immunity). ******** Design Notes: I wanted this build to be stealthy Ftr/Rogue alternative who could get BAB +16 (4 attacks) & get +8d6 SA per round. All the while being able to effectively kill Undead - a typical foil for many Rogue characters. Besides SA, this build also grants you Divine Might damage (based on your CHA-Mod). Which is a great damage add-on to the TWF fighting style. Unfortunately, the TWF feat chain arrives a little later than normal, due in part to the need to take the Education feat and the IB's feat pre-requisites. Anyway, all observations, issues, & critiques are welcome. Even if your campaign does not have a lot of undead, this build should still play effectively. This is not intended to be a power build, just a darn good one. XO, Snow :cloud9: SOURCES: 1. | Stoned Golem12-29-03, 05:27 PM | In keeping with the anti-undead theme, Sacred Strike could work very well, since I can't think of a single undead that isn't evil at the moment. 8d8 averages almost exactly the same damage as 10d6, which is nice. Sacred Vengeance synergizes wonderfully with a full round of TWF sneak attacks too, and it could even substitute for Divine Might if you'll be focusing on undead and don't want to waste Power Attack and/or have to boost Cha quite as much. When all is said and done, you could potentially end up with a rogue who is actually better against undead than regular opponents. DM: :uh-huh: ...aaand, here come the constructs. |
| FarKadeNear12-29-03, 08:58 PM | I had fliped though the mini's handbook and to that PrC.. but when I read it I didn't notice that it got to Snk attack undead which i thought strange(causeing me to dislike the prc greatly) . Could you point me to the correct paragraph? as I simply can't seem to find it. |
| Boondoggle12-29-03, 09:13 PM | Divine Strike (Ex): Due to his specialized skill, training, and connection with the forces of light, a skullclan hunter of 2nd level or higher can make a special attack that is infused with positive energy. Effectively, this ability allows him to deal extra damage to undead as thought making a sneak attack. Divine strike damage applies to any sneak attack dice the skullclan hunter already has, as well as those gained through advancement in this class. |
| FarKadeNear12-29-03, 10:49 PM | Ah I see it now. Thankyou. That paragraph is poorly worded. *chuckle* Could easily have been: Divine Strike[ex] : a 2nd or higher level Skullclan hunter gains the ability to make sneak attacks against undead. anyway Thankyou kindly. FKN |
| Lord Arkhaven12-30-03, 10:27 AM | By the light if you can convince your DM to let you use Solider of Light then go 10 Levels of that! That class has so many amazing abilities not the least of which is Fast Healing 2! |
| Snow Savant12-30-03, 11:17 PM | L. Arkhaven, This is a Rogue build, hence the only reason I dipped in SoL was to gain the Turning ability, which lead to access to the Divine Might feat. SoL is a good PrC. It's extremely similar to the Holy Liberator PrC, of which I think HL is more often the stronger of the two. One exception would be in an undead-heavy campaign. Note: Stoned Golem's suggestions are good. There's just something neat about this build in that it allows one to bluff/feint against a Vampire and sock him for a ton of Sneak Attack damage. :smirk: XO, Snow :cloud9: |
