| klode_me12-17-05, 04:46 AM | anyone who knows a great nemo build, i'm a level 17 and it is an evil campaign. I want it to be a The-person-without-a-name build. unknown and feared by others. And i want to make it a suitable fighter. |
| X-Codes12-17-05, 05:23 AM | As in the old Harrison Ford westerns? EDIT: Actually, you can't be Evil and be The-Man-With-No-Name. That guy is a silent deliverer of justice and whatnot. At worst he's True Neutral. |

And lots of Nondetection spells =P Anyway, the man with no name would likely have SA up the wazoo and use a quick-loading deadly precision hand crossbow, but I don't think thats what you're looking for... Hmm... Ghost-Faced Killer. Thats what you want. |
| der_gogo12-17-05, 06:02 AM | Hm, for a Nemo build I would start using a clownfish template... :D |
| Tempest Stormwind12-17-05, 12:07 PM | Wow, no one's suggested Ghostwalker yet? That is THE ULTIMATE "man with no name" PrC. Sadly, it officially only exists in Sword and Fist. But it was too cool to not be converted. (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=347888) Yes, part of the power is that his most potent features work only when his opponents do not know his name. In the updated version, if you reveal your name to your allies, it's a sign of trust, since you become weaker against them as well. |
| Khazra Reborn12-17-05, 12:29 PM | Ghostwalker truly rocks. It's generally much more effective as a BBEG as the PCs take him down to under half life on the first encounter so next time they fight him he is considerably stronger then before. Hexblade is a nice entrance to the ghostwalker, with its curse, extra resistant to spells & mettle. |
| PhaedrusXY12-17-05, 06:32 PM | As in the old Harrison Ford westerns? You mean Clint Eastwood... They were directed by Sergio Leone, were filmed in Italy, and are nicknamed "The Spagetti Westerns". The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly is one of my favorite movies. |
| ninjarabbit12-17-05, 07:22 PM | 3.5ranger3/hexblade4/ghostwalker10 and get yourself a crow familar to let your foes know death is coming |
| Tempest Stormwind12-17-05, 10:22 PM | Interesting thing about Ghostwalker: It works just as mysteriously and dark-hero-like if you're Lawful Good. ;) (The Revision I linked also gets Mettle. It really is a natual thing to fit with that concept, isn't it?) By the way, a side note about the so-called Spaghetti Westerns: Guess how many of them are almost completely stolen from Kurosawa samurai flicks. (Lone samurai or ronin become the lone gunslinger, and iaijutsu duels became quickdraw-at-dawn contests... but the point is, they are nonetheless almost direct transliterations from Kurosawa's samurai movies. Most of those are just as good, if not better, than the Clint Eastwood films.) |
| Khazra Reborn12-18-05, 07:59 AM | paladin/rogue/shadowbane inquisitor is also a nice nameless, mysterious character, heel you could even do something like paladin4/rogue3/shadowbane inquisitor3/ghostwalker10 if you wanted. An example of a shadowbane inquisiotr is my witch-hunter general build. It was originally a BBEG but could still work for you: magic blooded human paladin4/rogue3/shadowbane inquisitor3/Suel arcanamach4/witchhunter2/shadowcraft mage4 Feats: PA,iron will, devoted inquisitor, combat casting, spell focus (illusion),divine might, extra spell (hound of doom),leadership Notable Abilities: cha>saves*2, cha>damage, cha>hound's AC, 5th level spells, 40% miss chance Cohort:magic blooded human marshal1/bard1/paladin4/fighter1/warchanter10 (uses motivate tactics aura so he, you & hound get cha>damage when flanking) |

It was certainly better than the Western remake of it, The Magnificent Seven, though. |
