Actually, consider warlock. Your flight, spell-like abilites and size work really really well with the warlock's eldritch blast and other abilities.

try this:

Pixie(+4 LA)

Rogue 3/ Scout 1/ Ninja 1/ Shadow Thief of Amm 1/ Pyrokineticist 10

By using movement and invisibility you get an Attack that should look like this:
2d6 Rogue
1d6 Scout(skirmish)
1d6 Ninja(sudden strike)
1d6 Shadow Thief
10d6 Pyrokineticist
.............
15d6 total..... and it is a Ranged Touch Attack, so having a low BAB wont be so Bad, you can increase this to 19d6 with greater Psionic Shot(+4d6)

this is something that is an at will ability for the Pyro to do 10d6 every round, however it is only one attack.
The other nice thing that Pyro has going for it is , an At Will save-or-Die attack.

The first thing that may pop into peoples heads is ............... “what about creatures that are immune to fire?”
Answer : you don’t have to make it fire damage.........it could just as easily be Acid, cold, electrical, Sound.
There will be some creatures that have resistances, but few are actually Immune to elemental damages.
another danger is creatures that can see invisible at will........then they will see a 10d6(14d6) bolt of energy comming at them

or try this:

Pixie
Psion 6/ Pyrokineticist 10

thus anything that is resistant to the 10d6 fire bolt you can use, a 6d10+ mind thrust on or crystal shard,etc..............

you dont have to worry about running out of PP as most of your Pyro powers dont use PP, and Pixies already have some nice racial abilities.

or maybe something like a Pixie PsiRogue 6/ Pyrokineticist 10
i could also quicken fire bolt and have 10d6+10d6+4d6(grt psi shot) +5d6(sneak attack)=29d6

or try this:

Warlock 8/ Pyrokineticist 8

lots of AT WILL abilities , 2 types of ranged damage

or even try this:

Pixie

Rogue 3/ Ninja 1/ Sor 1/ Pyrokineticist 8/ Arcane duelist 2

Wis + Cha to AC
2d6 Sneak Attack
1d6 Sudden Strike
8d6 fire bolt

Much better AC...can also add Mage armor and shield spell from sor
11d6 total damage ranged touch SA
good skills

or try this:

Pixie Druid 16

simple....but very effective, and easily playable

hope they help

yes, but i need a theme.

BTW. A pixie warlock is very unique, because they are always neutral good.

Maybe a blowgun build.

or maybe archer build:
Quiver of Anariel: Quivers of Anariel appear to be typical arrow containers capable of holding a score of arrows. However, the quivers automatically replenish themselves with standard or magical arrows, such that they are always full. Some quivers also create arrows made of special materials, such as adamantine, cold iron, or alchemical silver.

Once an arrow it taken from the quiver, it must be used within 1 round or it vanishes.

Moderate conjuration; CL 7th; Craft Wondrous Item, magic weapon, minor creation; Price 28,000 gp (standard arrows), 29,000 gp (masterwork arrows), 32,000 gp (+1 arrows), 44,000 gp (+2 arrows), 64,000 gp (+3 arrows), 92,000 gp (+4 arrows), 128,000 gp (+5 arrows); Add an additional +6,000 gp for adamantine arrows, +4,005 gp for cold iron arrows, or +200 gp for alchemical silver arrows; Weight 1 lb.

Pixie4(La)+6Warlock+10mindbender= A swift kick in the nuts.

End result: Flat footed touch attacks on a stick. Kick anything without True seeng or see invisibility right in the nuts. Get eldrich spear for nice sniping capabilities. Worship Shar and pick up the shadow weave magic feat for your mindbender DC's, spell focuses, stupid high saves form charisma, party face, detect magic on a stick, and definatly pick up practiced spellcaster to advance warlock spellcasting while in mindbender a little faster. Your sneaky even without ranks, you can talk and charm your way out of any paper bag, or mearly blast your way out. Take full ranks in UMD and become spells on a stick via scrolls and wands. Fun, and playable at all levels of the build. Also you get to thrall anything size large or smaller with no HD restriction as long as it fails the will save. If the creature is of the Opposing alignment, slap a Helm of opposite alignment to stop it from making new saves when you force it to do things it's alignment would restrict it from.

I think the key to a good Pixie build is to do the following:

1) Take advantage of the physical bonuses
2) Take advantage of the size
3) Focus on non-weapon damaging attacks (SA, Eldritch Blast, etc.)
4) Love those SLAs

I find a very interesting combination for the Pixie is the Druid. Or, conversly, a Wildshaping Ranger 5/MoMF 10/Mindbender 1

I like that build quite a bit because of it's versatility...that and the fact that it's funny as hell to see a Pixie turn into a War Troll.

Otherwise some of the earlier builds (mainly those that include Warlock) are very nice.

can it then still be greater invisible as a war troll?

my weapon would be a greatbow, and then it should have the sizing ability.

The artificer class is the one the pixie can draw lots of advantage from.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I am rather sure you do not lose supernatural abilities when you polymorph/wildshape. So yeah, you would be able to run around as a war troll (Cave troll is way better. Do it. DO IT!) while completly invisible and ripping apart the oposition while giggling like a little schoolgirl.

Well, that would make green star adept a great PrC for warlocks if it does, since it adds 15 caster levels in 10 levels. Well, actually judging from the example given, it would actually only be 10 caster levels. Either way, still a great PrC for the warlock.

If you want a pixie archer, I'd advise looking here (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=183604) for some nice archer builds. Really I'd make it a bard archer and get bow of songs so you get charisma to hit and damage. If you can, have your DM deconstruct it so you can add different enhancements

A ghost MotUH isn't as strong as you might think, unless you get to add a bunch of custom feats. The main reason is, no chain spell metamagic.

Here's a direct quote from CA:
Warlocks and Prestige Classes
Warlocks benefit in a specific way from prestige classes that have "+1 level of existing arcane spellcasting class" or "+1 level of existing spellcasting class" as a level advancement benefit. A warlock taking levels in such a prestige class does not gain any of his class abilities, but he does gain an increased caster level when using his invocations and increaded damage with his eldritch blast. *clip* A warlock also gains new invocations known at these prestige class levels as though he had gained a level in the warlock class.
The way I see it, your caster level goes up, your eldritch blast damage goes up, and you gain invocations. I looked at the section on invocations, and it says that you gain at levels specified on the chart for the warlock access to new levels of invocations (least, lesser, greater, dark). Thus, you benefit in the same way as a normal caster would if they enter a PrC that has "+1 level of existing spellcasting class" as a level advancement benefit, and then some because your eldritch blast also goes up in damage.

I believe you are incorrect if you were referring to Practiced Spellcaster. The only benefit gained by Practiced Spellcaster is an increased caster level; new spells and additional spells per day are not gained. Given that this is the case for normal casters, I cannot see why the warlock would gain additional invocations or blast damage.

Taking levels in a PrC that advances arcane spellcasting, on the other hand, certainly does provide additional blast damage and invocations.

Kung-fu genius replaces a Monk’s Wis with Int for all purposes, Dragon Issue # 319. Lowers your overall Will save, but gives more skill points. I went with Monk just for Evasion and good saves. With an 18 Int +6 = 24 at 1st level, might be worth mixing in swashbuckler.

Throw 1 or 2 levels of monk on top of a bard archer and it's pretty good, so you get cha to AC. Also, you should use the SS propgression for Pixie, you'll get Otto's dance for the measly price of one fey HD.

LA 4 / Fey 1 / Monk 1 / ranger 2 / Bard 4 and then some combination of deepwood sniper and peerless archer would probably be best. If there's a full BAB class that offers sneak attack (I think there are a few in complete warrior) you might want to consider getting 1d6 sneak attack die and get the craven feat + improved multishot, especially if you can use ECL instead of level for the craven. Also, ask about LA Buyoff, that's a must for combat builds IMO, so you can get 16 BAB. If you can use LA buyoff though, I wouldn't use the level progression in SS.

Throw 1 or 2 levels of monk on top of a bard archer and

... you have an alignment conflict.

Also, where exactly do you get "1 fey" HD? Do you understand how monster HD work for Pixies?

Rogues get everthing useful that Monks get. Don't waste 3 levels and a feat to get Charisma to AC -- there are easier ways.

Baring a desired plot line, SA requirement or alignment issue, I would always take monk over rogue. All good saves, never unarmed and with OA Monk your pick up just about any feat first and second level. Still get evasion and are never unarmed. Stunning fist and flurry of blows. What do you lose, a few skill points. Pixies are +6 Int, not a problem. Light armor? With a +8 Dex and +4 Wis, no thanks.

Sure, and it's very possible to work in a back story about how you have an artifact ring which makes you invulnerable to monsters. Both are outside the rules.

I was talking about the Pixie class from savage species.

You might want to look up how that works in 3.5e.

I would always take monk over rogue

Thing is, a Pixie has fantastic Sneak Attack opportunities, thanks to being naturally invisible. Rapid Shot and an itsy-bitsy bow are your best damage dealing options. That's why Rogue is such an obvious choice for Pixies.

Also, ask about LA Buyoff, that's a must for combat builds IMO, so you can get 16 BAB.

I think LA buy-off is pretty pointless for anything above +2 LA. You'll never "catch-up".

At 12th level (ECL16) it will cost you 15000 to buy-off one level of LA. Even with subsequent buy-offs reducing this costs (which can't be taken until 21st level), you're still talking a long time before its worthwhile.

Even with a +2 LA, this only pays off at 15th level:

At 6th level (ECL 8), pay 7000 to reduce to +1 LA.
At 9th level (ECL 10), pay 9000 to reduce to +0 LA.

At 7th level you'd be 5000 xp behind.
8th -4000
9th -11000
10th -9000
11th -7000
12th -5000
13th -3000
14th -1000
15th +1000 (this is where the buy-back pays off)

For a +4 LA the payoff is 46th level...!
OnCider

11-01-05, 07:29 AM
Actually, after working this out properly with a spreadsheet, the break-even point for LA buy-off is:

+1LA = 5th level
+2LA = between 14th and 15th level
+3LA = 28th level
+4LA = between 45th and 46th level
+5LA = 67th level

hence the formula is:

-0.5 + sigma{n=1 to LA}(4n+1.5)

where LA >= 1

I think I have just transcended geekiness...

Oh, you did account for the fact that you'll get more exp then your allies from encounters because your a lower ECL, right?

Sure, and it's very possible to work in a back story about how you have an artifact ring which makes you invulnerable to monsters. Both are outside the rules.

To make you happy, "LA 4 / Ex-Monk 1 / Ranger 2 / Bard 4 / Deepwood Sniper 2 / Peerless Archer 7" There, now I'm suggesting Ex-Monk instead of Monk so it's RAW, forgive my transgressions. Oh, and try to cover up your alignment shift by having more of them, like from neutral to good or something. And include as many plot hooks as possible. Peerless archer grants sneak attack if I remember correctly, btw, so you don't need rogue. Also, +1d6 damage means little against +4 or more AC, especially AC that's stackable with armor bonuses from things like mage armor. Craven only works on slashing weapons so it's not an option, if memory serves. Feel free to trade in about 3 levels of peerless archer for deepwood sniper if you're so inclined.

You might want to look up how that works in 3.5e.

SS was never updated to 3.5 and I don't believe the monster class(s) were ever updated either. I assumed monster classes weren't actual HD and thus the 1HD wasn't removed.

It goes on for a little bit more, but it clearly states that Eldrich blast damage does go higher with a bonus to arcane spellcasting. You also gain new invocations known at these perstige class levels as though you had gained a level in the Warlock class.

pixie(+4la) /rogue 5/ slayer of domiel* 10/ rogue1

*you only have to take two levels, but as a DM i didn't allow my player to just dip in this class.

The second class gives this rogue divine grace which is a real bonus for the pixie currently at level 18; having these saves: fort +23, ref +37, will +20.

only strange part is that you have to be lawfull good .

It has been noticed, however when CA first came out there was some argument on the boards about whether that included access to the higher tiers of Invocations (I think it ended in an "agree to disagree" decision). Since the different categories of Invocations (Least, lesser, great, dark) are listed as class abilities they might be considered seperate from the invocations. The table is what caused the confusion. I personally agree with you, but have had a DM rule the other way. It is open to some rules interpretation depending on how picky the DM wants to get.

I'm not dissing LA builds - just advising not to bother with buying back levels if the LA is above 2.

I've played a pixie rogue (died when it was eventually hit!) - when the greater invisibility kicks in it's sneak-attack-city. I'm now playing a werebear warshaper (a bit more sturdy)...
