Ainaelin 10-31-05, 01:20 PM	Hi everyone! Is it me or has the Search feature all but disappeared from these forums? Anyway. I have this character who wants to become a Fochlucan Lyrist. He hails from The Moonshae Islands in the Forgotten Realms, and below are his abilities and summary. The abilities were rolled. Str : 9 Dex : 16 Con : 14 (increased at 4th level from initial 13) Int : 16 Wis : 15 Cha : 18 Levels 1 to 4 : Rogue (I wanted the Uncanny Dodge class feature) levels 5 to 6 : Bard (to get to 1st level spells) Level 7 : Druid That's where I am now. Feats up to now : Human : Point blank Shot 1st lvl : Rapid Shot 3rd lvl : Lingering Song 6th lvl : Two-Weapon Fighting I intend to take Versatile Performer à 9th level and Weapon Finesse at 12th level, since we house-ruled that a Quarterstaff may be finesseable. My magic Items : - Lesser Choker of Eloquence : (I think our DM found it in the Arms and Equipment Guide for 3.0) - Cloak of Resistance +1 - Leather Armor +2 - Bowstaff +2 (changes from quarterstaff +2 to shortbow +2 as a move action) - Mac-Fuirmidh Cithern (MoF) Spells Known as a Bard : Lvl 0 : Ghostharp (MoF), Lullaby, and Prestidigitation Lvl 1 : Charm Person and Harmony (PGtF) At the moment, I intend to level up as a Druid for two more levels, then as a Bard to increase my Perform skill to 13 to meet the requirement for the Fochlucan Lyrist, and become a FL at my 11th level. Or maybe I could gain two more Druid levels to gain the Wildshape ability and become a FL at level 13 only, if I ever reach that level. The background of my character is the following : his father was a renowned fighter who despised his son for his lack of fighting abilities (Str 9) and his too many tendencies to day-dreaming. He was good at archery, though. Gor'El, my character, then went to his uncle in Caer Callidyr to study, even though he'd rather be with his friends in the streets than at the library (Rogue levels). His only thirst for knowledge at that time was for legends of heroes and such. His uncle then decided it was time for him to do something with his life and sent him to a Bard college. Gor'El found mentions in the College library of the secret Fochlucan Lyrists and decided to become one. So he went in search of a Druid (first an NPC, and then one of the PCs)... ********************************* Ok, so here's my question. I think I can talk my DM into changing minor things in that character's build (A feat or two, my bard spells, etc...). What would you advise me for min/maxing my support abilities (and general power if possible), given the following restrictions/helps : - My DM usually rolls high with NPCs' Saves - I want to be able to stand a couple of rounds in a melee fight (my DM ALWAYS finds a way to attack the weak characters) - I have a very good Diplomacy modifier (ranks + synergy + item + charisma = +20). I dont know if this can help, especially since the DM sometimes deems that wathever the roll, some NPCs can not be assuaged or convinced (he hates to lose control, ANY control over his adventures, PCs, NPCs, etc...). Any help and advice would be appreciated, even if I end up not using them (for any reason).

I'm in the (long) process of reading that thread now. :ayyyy!: As for the search feature, last time I checked, the Boards' officials said it would be implemented some time in the future, so I thought that, one year later, it might have been. :D Anyway, if anybody has any insight about this particular character, (s)he is welcome.
aod318 10-31-05, 06:39 PM	Convince your DM to allow the Green Whisper prestige class from dragon magazine. With Rogue 2 / Bard 2 / Druid 2 / GW 4 / FL 10, everything works out nicely at 20th level.
